We are good against top Clubs ( cup matches etc) but we loose against lower Clubs. Reading the forum earlier Fleetwood Fans its our bigest game, its the bigest ground ever since Wembley play offs. We need a rethink that ALL Teams are no push oder and their bigest win is against us. We have made to many changes this year, maybe more than teams in the Champions league. We still have a Chance with play offs but my question whats wrong at the Moment? Why are we outplaying teams and loosing?

The players just aren't bothered about putting a shift in if they aren't on tv or playing a top team.

Our manager can't motivate them to play and any dissent means the end of your Blades career. Our manager also changes the team almost every week so there's never a chance to build relationships on the pitch.

We're incredibly small for a league 1 team so we don;t score easy goals from corners.

we're slow, both in terms of build up and actual speed

We don;t score enough goals so there's always too much pressure on a defence. A defence with a left back and centre mid for centre backs.

Just a thought but is the slow build up due to not wanting to make a mistake because of the fall out from doing so.
I'm not saying wrap them in cotton wool but if you get critisism in a public interview what do you get behind closed doors?

I've a feeling Garner may be the problem at the club.

Fleetwood don't have so many points less than us (and that decreased by three this afternoon). Their biggest league ground yet? No wonder they were up for it. Good on them, but I don't care for underdogs, as I don't want to recognise our Blades as such. But if we don't turn up against these teams, then they deserve their points.

Gazillions of dwarves signed by Clough for third division 'football' fail to out jump the big boys. What a surprise.
Back to the drawing Board Nigel, Nothing under six feet plus, hard as nails would be good and with bottle and commitment. Bassett's side would have slaughtered this lot.. Once out of this Division, then proper on the ground football would be very acceptable.
United snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. It's the Blade's way.

We didn't outplay Fleetwood or Peterboro IMO.

Our biggest problem is that we don't pressurise the opposition. It is hardly surprising really with a midfield including Doyle, Baxter and Coutts who just don't have the right level of energy. Our best performance in the last 10 years had a midfield including Reed, Adams (came on as sub) and Cuvellier.

I obviously see football differently to Clough, because I don't see what Baxter or Coutts brings to the team right now. If you brought in players with energy, it would allow Doyle o do the only thing he does best infront of the back four and would allow Murphy, Reed, Cuvellier and Adams to put pressure on the opposition high up. the double bonus is that it would be an attacking team without playing 442, because we don't have 2 players at the club capable of playing in a a 2 as the last 2 games have proven.

Is it that we play differently in the cup, or the fact that the team he plays in the cup have more energy?

Our problem is the style of play and tactics the manager dictates.

We play sideways and backwards football. We had 2 up top today, how many balls were played up to them? Virtually non. Several times today I saw Davies point where he wanted the ball to his left or right, what did we do? stick it out to Murphey or Brayford on the wing.

Instead we work the ball from the back and get in a mess with teams that press our back four and we often get in to trouble.

Alternitavely, as we did many times today we work the ball out to the winger who is facing 2/3 defenders, the winger waits for the defender to commit and tries to go down the line or goes backwards. No crosses reached the forwards.

We have been crap at corners, free kicks and knockdowns around the box because we lacked a big un up front. Today we had Davies make his debute and what do we do? Take short corners and omit long balls to the front for Davies to knock down for Done/Murphey.

By the time we work the ball up the field our opponents have 10 men behind the ball.

we have too many players under performing at present clough makes changers and its just the same.confidence has dried up and players are chickening out of being positive to a man tyey are running scared(no one has confidence at presnt).is this down to clough constantly making changers? i think it is contributing to our lack of confidence and beleafe as a team.
i have been a clough fan all along but i can see a danny wilson situation happening here unless things change our team
playing like they are will get him the sack. he has had the backing now and the board will be watching closely.i am sure nigel will be aware of this and under performing players get managers the sack. he still has time to put it right and reach the play offs but unless players start taking responsibily and be more positive he is in danger that is football today and he and the players know it.we are a different team away from home a lot more relaxed but we are still not positive enough is this down to negative tactics or players not following insructions. if it is the players then clough has got problems and changing
personal is not working. its a difficult one to find an answer but thats nigels problem i pray he finds the right answers;
