WOW! How much did the beard really cost us?

To say he was over priced is ridiculous the fans were split as to the way we were playing win, lose or draw when it was announced he had signed there was a marked increase in belief that not only could we get into playoffs but could get automatic not even just the fans, what price would any blade put on a massive rise in confidence ?
My personal opinion is the beard is a catalyst, not only has his signing renewed a little faith in the team but it has shown something I thought I'd never see at BDTBL, ambition from the board, maybe even commitment to our beloved club unseen in many years.
Added to this, brayford didn't decide the fee but if rumours are to be believed he took a very large pay cut to be where in his words "I think I belong" just for that alone I think the fee for him is worth it as that says he's a player that truly WANTS to play for and help SUFC get back to where he and they belong.

Roller, if I could I'd give you a treble like for those sentiments. I don't quite get the idea of either or when it comes to signing players. Why does signing Brayford negate signing another decent player? Clough has made no secret of his admiration for Brayford, the fans love him, so why there should be anything other than pleasure at his return to his spiritual home surprises me. We've got a class player, he'll adapt to higher levels of football, so whatever he cost it will turn out to be a great deal for the club. Good bot of business and saves us spending £3-4mil on a R/B when we're in the Championship.

Top boy! Made up for both lads, but Brayford's was a classic 'you've got to be in it to win it' punt.

McNulty's goal was pure striker instinct, and a very classy finish.

I've read a few posts commenting on the fact that we hoofed it throughout, but although I only saw clips, the bits I watched showed us playing a good passing game. Maybe they were rare examples on the night but we looked good from what I saw.

As a counterpoint Brayford was entirely to blame for Rochdales goal last night.

Shows our intent that we mean business and are serious in going places .Even opposing fans and players in this league must think and say - Shit have you seen how much SUFC have paid for Brayford. Success breeds success , and unfortunately in todays game , money talks.

Not sure I agree with this 'for a full back' malarkey. Just look at our last 4 goals...1 scored by Brayford, 2 'made' by Brayford and 1 made by Harris.

Very important players in the system we play, probably more so than our wingers.

Our first season in this league we scored floods of goals because of our fullbacks. We then ended up with bloody Matt hill and tony McMahon..... 3 years later we suddenly look like challenging for top two again.

Our best full backs since we had borbokis and Quinn as wingbacks under spackman
