has anyone ever had a chance encounter with a blades player. Other than at the lane i hasten to add. I was once helping a mate collect betterware catalogues in Dronfield when i was about 11 and knocked at paul Beasleys house. Also stood behind Howard Kendall in a queue at a perrtrol station on my way to school.

Aye. Met most of the 1971-72 team when me and a couple of mates went to watch then train.

Met the 1998 team at a get together backstage with a mate of ours who was an agent.

Met much of the 2001 team (minus Devlin) out in Trinidad and Tobago

Went backstage with my nephew and Musical Blade (hence "I've seen Keith Curle's cock") as a guest of Warnock and his missus in 2001.

Talking of seeing player's cocks, a few players showed up in the Sheaf House on Bramall Lane at the end of the first top flight season under Basset (I think). Everyone was singing and celebrating and at one point Vinnie Jones was standing on the bar. For some reason the Blades fans started singing "Vinnie Vinnie Show Us Yer Cock".

Not one to disappoint the fans, the ex-Wimbledon hard man lowered his keks to reveal an average-sized love torpedo.

I met Colin Morris a few times when I lived in Brid. He lived in Kilham and worked at the local Arundales Peugeot garage. He presented the end of season awards for the team that I managed. Also lived near Ray McHale in Brid when he was involved at Scarborough.

TC and John Hope came to my house on Tuesday evening 11th April, my dad arranged the surprise. There were scars on TC's face caused by the car crash on March 25th (few hours after our 2-0 defeat at Spurs). On the following Saturday TC returned to the 1st team in the scoreless draw at Ipswich, John Hope got dropped to the reserves and suffered a knee injury that ruled him out of action for a long time

Was heading towards the city centre after leaving my house on Skyedge with a few mates , when at the corner of Granville rd and city rd , big John Mcphail and Tony Pritchard where inspecting the damage done to their car after crashing into someone both looked as though the had shandys on board , mate pipes up and says any chance of your auto John , if looks could kill .

Me and my mates bumped into Michael Tonge in Republic/Gatecrasher night club the weekend after he scored against Liverpool in 2003, we were all plastered and were talking his ear off whilst he just wanted to escape!...

...then a week later I was on a work placement at the lane and bumped into him. He gave me a funny look like he recognized me but couldn't remember where from, I felt like his stalker!

Keith edwards back garden backed onto our school playing fields and after just standing and watching us a few times he took over our footy training (think we were first years )

it didnt last long a few sessions before he disapeared (might have signed for leeds) but it when he spoke we listened he certainly made some of the kids who didnt really play football a lot better at it

Not personally, but our old Sunday league manager was a big character. He'd take it really, really seriously and expect us all to be out jogging three times a week, eating the right food, that kind of thing.

He owned property in Marbella and offered a holiday there in a club raffle. My mate won it and was out there having a nice time and looks over the beach, lo and behold, it's our Sunday league manager. He thinks "fuck's sake, I'm being supervised on holiday as well." He dutifully wanders over to say hello and, upon closer inspection, realised it was none other than Neil Warnock sunning himself. They do look quite alike to be fair.

Stayed at Colin's house quite a few times in Kilham. I was good friends with Lee (and Mark other son) growing up in South Anston and remained friends when he moved to Scarborough. Lovely family. Lost touch around mid 90's but Lee always remembered me when I saw him around the Lane pre and post his United career.

Also used to see Glenn Cockerill walking his dog in Anston too.

Mick Jones a regular in the Trooper in Anston when I started drinking late teens.

Worked with Paul Stancliffe's son in a previous job - good man and his Dad is a top bloke too. Used to see Curtis Woodhouse down Eccy Road all the time when he played for the Blades. Ditto for Stephen Quinn. Used to see a fair few of team in the old Champs when I lived down that way.

Seen Carl Asaba in Millhouses Park quite a bit since he packed in too.

I used to work at Cash Converters in Workdop and David 'Ninja' Tuttle came in to sell a play station. I've also seen Tongey in Retford at a sports shop opening. My dad and I carried Ian Bryson's child down the old steps from Bramall Lane on the car park behind the South Stand when the 'United' series was on telly. (I'm showing my age aren't I?)

Off the blades theme I used to work at Eurodollar in Manchester and we had a call saying a friend of the MD was turning up to pick up a car. It happened to be Sir Bobby Charlton. I had to ask for ID to prove who he was as part of the rental agreement.

Queuing outside Josephines on a Boxing Day night when Brian Deane and one or two of his mates walzed straight to the front. Deano had been sent off in the game earlier away against Notts County and I said something ridiculously obvious like "how did you feel about the sending off?" A lot of players lived up near Paul Beesley - Carl Asaba, Kevin Gage, Simon Tracey I think, didn't he buy Vinnie Jones' old house?

Saw Alan Kelly in a restaurant but didn't 'meet' him. I missed out on bumping into Vas Borbokis in the supermarket because I left my friends and went into the sandwich shop instead.

Also bumped into most of the promotion side on Eccy Road the day after the Cardiff game, after Leeds lost. Danny Webber was a bit freaked out after I kissed him on the arm for some reason.

Oh and there was the time when I won a mini metro in the Blades Revival draw. 1988 and 20 years old and I'm running across the pitch at half time in a match versus Wolves and there's Ian Bryson handing me the keys. I reversed the car out in the corner of the Bramall lane and and the Wolves fans were chanting "smash it up, smash it up". Three months later I duly obliged.

I used to live on the same cul-de-sac as Paul Beesley in Dronfield. He never mowed his lawn and the grass was about a foot high. Vinny Jones, who lived nearby, used to give him a lift in "Vinny' s Vauxhall". Also saw Brian Gayle round there shortly after he signed for us.
