Bristol should be a good atmosphere.

See Bristol have completely sold out for the game against us, despite them not having a massive following it should be a semi decent atmosphere. I see them as the ones to beat this season for obvious reasons, don't think they were anything special at beginning of season but they have shown to be more than consistent.

Should be a good game i'm looking forward to the test and see it as a game in which we can prove a point and show our intentions for the rest of the season.

Anyone else travelling down? If so are you drinking at the boozer that overlooks the bridge? Forgot what it's called but it was half decent in there.

Aye, we were going to make a weekend of it, but changed our minds.

Should be interesting being on the "home end" this time around.

When was the last time you missed a competitive Blades match?

Funnily enough, not so long ago, Spurs at home I saw on TV in Lisbon, which was the first competitive fixture (or actually, including friendlies) fixture I've missed at Bramall Lane for decades.

The time before that, both home and away, I haven't the foggiest without going through the piles and piles of stubs. Was a long time ago though.

I'm looking forward to the Bristol vs Sheffield game on sat, never before has a rugby team played a non-league football team in a league football match.

Not really considering that league one features one team from Bristol meaning we can only play one team from Bristol ;) Effort though Gavlar"

So shall we refer to ourselves as Sheffield then seeing as there's only one team from Sheffield in league 1 as well?

Part timer.

We went in there last year. Sat outside. Cracking views. Indeed Clifton is a lovely place with some nice pubs/bars. Then walked over the Clifton Suspension Bridge and down to the ground.

Me as well Deadbat. Decent drink as well and a good atmosphere.

I'm going down too. MIssed the last two visits here but been three times and seen us win, lose and draw. I remember falling down the stairs in spectacular fashion after Henderson bagged a 94th minute winner shortly after throwing a two goal lead away :)

Looking at the other fixtures, Swindon go to Scunthorpe and MK Dons are away at Gillingham. Preston v Notts County is postponed for some reason. A draw at Bristol City might not be the worst result, and a win could be season-changing.

Remember, only shit teams to play after Saturday :-)

I'm stressing over whether to go or to go to Phoenix Nights in Manchester, tough call.

I'm surprised if you walked over the bridge and down to the ground, bit of a long way round me hearties.

Also Away very friendly and only a 10 minute walk from where you will be housed in AG is the Nova Scotia, get a good mix of home and away in there. for food the Cottage and the Pump House are also decent and 100 yards from the Nova.

Have a safe trip all.

They'll probably be out in force to show the Sheffield families, women and children how hard they are.

I remember the Play off game in 1988, there was all sorts going off down there with about 1,500 United fans on a Sunday evening and about 20,000 Bristol, there was at least two United fans stabbed.
Strangely enough the very next season when we got promoted and there was about a million Blades there they didn't want to know in spite of almost every United fan being on their pitch beckoning them to resume the hostilities.

Yep remember that too. Start of our modern day play off nightmares

We are making a weekend of it, heading down tomorrow afternoon. Any and all recommendations will probably be gladly received.

If you see it kicking off in the corporate seats (cushioned seats which are as close to a corporate box as Ashton gate gets) in the home end after we score, that'll be me.

I shall be in Madrid at Real Madrid v Deportivo La Coruna scouting , I here they have a decent left sided player and a couple of forwards. Stag weekend on Valentines day has gone down great in the Sitwell house ,cost me a fucking arm and a leg in flowers and chocolates :(
