Thought Diego looked decent second half at Preston. However, Che Adams has been excellent the last two games.

With respect, i'd trust Cloughs word over yours. Having worked as a contractor for 12 years, its very very rare that the finer details of contracts get discussed amongst people you work with. But you may be right.

Whoever is advising him probably thinks they can make as much money as possible for the lad. No problem with that. But for his career progression, he might want to look at Harry Maguire, Jordan Slew, Jonathan Forte, Matt Lowton and Kyle Naughton before he looks to Kyle Walker as an example.

It's curious why he hasn't played... we've had enough lads come though the Academy - especially this season! - to show we aren't scared of giving youth a chance.

Reed. Kennedy. DiMaio. All Academy products with a good attitude getting a chance.

Wallace, Adams. Both from non-League and have come in with an apparently good attitude and getting chances.

I do get the impression - possibly entirely wrong admittedly!! - that Diego might be getting a touch of the Billy-Big-Bollocks about him, which might be why Clough is less keen on using him. Or it could just be that he's being careful after he's been out for a long while with an ACL.

If I was him, or his advisors, I think I'd be telling the lad to knuckle down and prove himself somewhere he's likely to get the opportunity he needs, which at the minute would be us. But it seems like he might have to rebuild some bridges and eat a bit of humble pie. Just my two-pennorth, obviously.
