As highly as I rate the beard, have we decided that we now need more right backs than midfield players? Flynn has been ooutstanding in recent weeks, Alcock is just back from injury, we sign freeman and Davis is on his way back. I know the beard is (or was when we saw him last season) better than all of them but will he get us promotion or if we have £1m+ to spend, would we be better spending what we have to address the problem at the other end of the pitch?

He adds a different dynamics to the team when we are attacking

He even scored a couple in his time with us

Don't forget there is still the big lad, who RS believe should arrive next week once Michail-Smith gets over his injury

Quite simply as Sheffielder said earlier he will effect the way we play and we will get forward more and make more chances. The crowd will be lifted ,the club will be lifted and we have a talisman the like of which we haven't seen for years.

Leo Fortune West is an agent now, and has links to both Cardiff and South Yorkshire having played football in both areas. It's not unlikely that he knows.

Delighted with this. I don't agree with those that say we are spending too much on a player who plays in a position which isn't a priority for us.

To me, he is such a good player at this level that despite being a 'defender', he actually significantly improves us as an attacking force. When you factor in that we've also signed another talented player in Coutts, who links well with him, it looks good business to me. He is well worth the fee and if he is here for the next few seasons and helps us into the Championship (at least!) then it's a bargain.

That is without even mentioning what it does for the morale of the fans/club.
