I cant help thinking that NC duplicitous statements allied to his man management style that he really doesn't want this lad to stay at all. His constant hounding off him at his last league game reminded me more of a parent shouting at a Sunday league U11 match

An utter disgrace if we let this talented lad go,

Another promising youngster ruined?

.

I have said it before and I will say it again, I would play Diego instead of Scougall at the moment, because he at least shoots at goal.

The name Evan Horwood reverberated out of my TV late on Saturday night at the back end of TFLS's League 2 coverage like a bolt from the blue I thought I'd accidentally turned over to La Liga coverage. Another one of the all time greats.

If Diego goes it will be because he's not good enough to make a difference in our first team.

If Diego was called Alan Jones no one would be bothered about him.

I don't know. He's got a few goals and done a decent job at York. I'd like to see him given some sort of opportunity at the Lane, though I realise 1 up front makes this impossible.

Could the OP provide evidence of NC's duplicitous comments?

Yes, just thinking about the wealth of youth players we've seen move......upwards? Reed, Kennedy, and several others waiting in the wings? Disgusting how we manage to achieve this, doncha think?
Exactly no one was raving about Reed, he's 17yrs old and popped up from nowhere yet Clough gets slated for not giving Diego a chance, despite the few chances he's had he's not really done much to impress.

Thing is Carling, few of us know why things happen the way they do, but I've seen Diego, good player with promise, so why he's not moved forward, who knows apart from NC and Diego? If the lad is getting poor advice that may be to his detriment, and a few more years at this club would do him the world of good, as he could buckle down, impress all of us, and then, if he really can deliver, consider his future elsewhere.

Or perhaps not good enough for the current set up...

Meanwhile, Tel Kennedy and Reed seem to be doing great, K Wallace, Dimaio, Che Adams are all getting exposure to first team and then we've got young lads like McNulty and James Wallace being developed (although the latter seems to struggle with injuries)

Yep we sure know how to ruin a promising youngster!

Some managers have strong personalities and believe me I do not think that is necessarily a good thing in this day and age.

Sometimes that "strong personality" can be a problem with certain players who also happen to have "strong personalities" or "different attitudes". Foreign players and foreign descendants often are that bit different in temperament. Some can embrace that and others can't.

Skillful players need encouragement to express themselves and develop their talents. If Diego feels he doesn't get such encouragement under Clough then he is right to exercise his right to leave the club.

If the lad is as good as he thinks he is then we fans will live to regret losing him long after Clough has also left the club.

He obviously has something for the Italian youth team to keep flying him over to Italy. I would keep him if we had a choice.

I can't help but think he was on the bench part of his time at York so he can't be the next Pele just yet. He has yet to show anything in red and white that describes an exceptional talent but hey, the kid sounds like he is the best player we ever had.

Weren't we close to a contract extension recently?

Well we have the choice and are offering him a new contract. Whether he accepts it is a different matter. Perhaps Clough/ Morgs will be expecting him to show a few things for United and not just for Italy....

And Baxter, easy to forget how young he actually is as he's been around quite a while.

I am not arguing with that Swiss, but he can't show what he can do unless we play him, at least bring him off the bench.

Oh yes they were :)

Wasn't he close to signing a new deal 3 weeks ago.....?

He's signed a new contract...

with Adidas.

How do you think he gets picked for his Country exactly? I can guarentee you it isn't because he's wank for us.Italy's youth set up see quality in him,and lets be fair here,Italy are better than England 'atm'.

I'm sick and tired of people saying that one of our youngsters isn't good enough just because Sir Nigel Of Cloughness doesn't see fit to play him,it's getting tiresome.

Is Butler not good enough for League one? Is Collins all of a sudden not good enough for League one? Why has Dimaio not had a start since last seasons quality couple of performances?

Clough doesn't get everything right, and i'm personally struggling to see a lot of things he does get right 'atm' apart from the cup performances.Honestly,if this lad goes,we will be getting rid of a quality footballer.

And Pinchy ,i don't want none of this bladey bladeness bullshit, the lads got talent and it will piss me off big time if we let this lad leave for next to nothing. The blades are crying out for a creative flair sort of player who can play football through the middle, this lad can do it but we choose to persist with all these Scottish internationals we have:rolleyes: I really do wonder sometimes.
