Disappointing season so far

I think we need to nail this, because it's said quite often and it's a bit of a myth.

How often has a team lost out on promotion on GD? When did it last happen?

We lost out on promotion to Wednesday years ago - and lost a title to Leeds.
That's off the top of my head.
Did we get one from the 3rd in Keith Edwards time?

Interestingly, we had exactly the same number of points at this stage in 2011-12 when we ended up with 90.

I suspect 90 would be enough this time round :-)

That would be the season when Ched Evans got fit from his injury about this time and started to play regularly banging a goal a game then!

So to sum up why this season has been such a let down:
3 points off automatics and we're still in November.
Quarter final of League cup having beaten West Ham.
Bigger crowds home & away than our massive neighbours.
Can it possibly get any worse.

3-0 win would cause trouble, can anyone remember how to celebrate a second goal let alone a third?

Agree Matt much preferred our Stella start to last season after 16 games ,
Where we'd won 3 games lost 10 including the longest losing streak of the season 6 straight games ,
Second from bottom with 12 points , and -11 goal difference.
Yup 1-0 wins will do me

Is that in the same way that John Street stand is a "family" stand, but me and my 24 year old boy can't sit in it anymore.

We did for years - just interested as to why we are not deemed to be a family?

UTB

PS: it is one of my major digs at the club.
I'm 30 and sit in JSS with my parents as a family.

We let our season tickets lapse for 2 seasons and it is in cases like that they won't let you back in.

Presume you have been ticket holders consecutive years?

UTB
They've had theirs consecutive seasons since I was 16/17. I missed one year, I think 2008/09, and my sister had a fourth seat adjacent to us for a period in the middle, including the season I sat out.

If we'd had some ambition this season and signed a prolific striker in July, we WOULD have been winning the League !!
Yes .... we're in a decent position now but where would we have been IF we had a decent striker from the first game. Look at the points we've dropped that we shouldn't have if we could score goals in more than ones !! That, my dear chap is what most Blades are pissed about .... o_OUTB & FTP

As in any game it's nice to be in front at half time, but it don't mean a thing if your not in front at full time....

That's It!!!! Holy crap, it never occurred to me before. We need a prolific striker to win this league. Screw me with a barge pole covered in barnacles, I didn't see that missing link. OMG! WOW. What the hell we been playing at???? The answer is right there FFS!!!! :-)
