My first visit to keep mote.
Could do with a fast get a way. Any body suggest best place to park with minimum fuss getting away?

Cheers

Awful place to get away from. Probably best to park a bit away from the ground. Or leave ten minutes early, but that of course, will mean you miss any goals we are likely to score :)

Unfortunately in the same boat, I have to be at work in Sheffield at 5.30 so leaving early and missing all our goals:mad::mad:

If you get there about 2/33 hours before kick off you should be able to get some free parking next to the ground on the business estate that will lead you straight onto the dual carriageway after. If you are quick out, you should miss the traffic jam after. Alternatively ,instead of turning left at Lakeside towards the Keepmoat , turn right as if you are taking the back road to Asda, there is a residential housing estate about 20 minutes walk away from the ground on your right where you could park but again these get taken early

Yorkshire oulet shopping center next to the keepafloat stadium Free parking or the adsa near dome etc

Thanks for the info I'll be there around 12.30 so hopefully get one of the spots bartman has mentioned.

If you type in Short Lane, Bessacarr, Doncaster, there'll be loads of spots there. If you head down short lane after you've parked (heading away from Stoops Lane), it goes round to the right with a public highway to Lakeside and on to the ground. Takes about 15 mins and is a nice walk. You'll easily get a spot and could get out and head the Rotherham way to get back to Sheff, avoiding all the traffic.

(I grew up just down the road, I'm not a Rovers fan in disguise!)

Listen mate I live in Donny, as others on here may do, but trust me the average time to get away from the keep moat even in a 12000 crowd is about 1.5 hours as it is an absolute bottleneck.
The ones that have mentioned going back the Rotherham way are actually way out as they say go near the Asda then go Rotherham way, well the ASDA is North East of the keep moat and the opposite way from the Rotherham direction.

get off the M18 (thats if you are travelling from the city of Sheffield not from Rotherham or elsewhere), at junction 3, go down to the shopping complex (Yorkshire Outlet) and park as near to the entrance as possible, perhaps around the McDonalds. therefore you are in front of the traffic that parks around the Keepmoat, or towards the ASDA, or anywhere North or east from the ground.

But when you drive out of that shopping car park you have to turn left towards the keep moat and unless you are very early you will get snarled up. The trick is to head further into the shopping car park and carry on through past Toys R Us and you can get onto the dual carriageway there, then turn left back down to the roundabout then right to the M18, either way leave as early as possible.

About 30mins walk but you can break it up a bit with a few pubs on the way! and only £8.50 return from chessy, cheaper than the petrol and parking, and you can have a jar or three,

cheers mate, yeah I drove last time and have been to keepmoat a few times for business but never been on the train.
