I thought that too, that same self-destructive streak and inability to see that he might be wrong and that he isn't the one with the power in the relationship.

It isn't him though, he's got a full time job on BM, sharing his view that Ched's a convicted rapist ad nauseum and then some. If old Tara thinks this board's tedious, he/she'd be topping him/herself on BM.

47 posts and not a single poster in agreement with Taramasalata, no idea about anybody else's definition of empirical evidence, but that's got to count as being a decent answer to the gobby one's question.

Now, a question, we all know the origins of the term *Non Blades Wanker, and maybe I'm doing a disservice to Tarawhatsisname, but surely he should be considered for the first deserved award for the title whenever he posts? Unless of course he's got the strop on and won't come to play anymore? As a clear follower of the school of intransigent numbskullery he's just got so much going for him, pigheadedness(could he be wendy in disguise?), never mind what other's think, deny the facts, and most importantly, be reduced to using school playground rhymes as a way of responding. That's some package, and one worth considering for the very first, official site award for the 2014 NBW. A grunt couldn't have done a better job of demonstrating their credentials for arguing for the sake of it.

Pinchy *, I hope you've copyrighted that phrase mate, it's a belter, and deserves some type of lasting memorial to your creativity.

What we don't like, is a complete lack of respect for each other and us as facilitators. Moderating and hassle has always been part and parcel of the choice, the current level of snarkyness and disregard for the rules hasn't.

I speak for myself as regards what is stopping me, when I relate to over a decade of work and all the many genuine people, worldwide, that we've reached in some way, a number of which I now consider good friends.

I couldn't care less about other forums, I care about this one.

You are speaking to someone with extensive experience of the Internet and online communities across a broad spectrum of interests and backgrounds.

Just because some people choose to be dicks online, doesn't mean it's a given and should be expected.

It's perfectly possible to have a balanced community without having to accept crap, or have to aggressively moderate... We've previously had that balance.

It is indeed, the costs aren't mentioned to beat anyone up, we've always maintained that it's our choice and we don't expect anyone to cover them. It's intended as a polite reminder that we expect people to respect our ethos and if they don't, well, they'll have no choice either way when we run out of patience.

Unlike other places, which are faceless networks financed by extensive adverts and the businesses that own them, you are pushing at two of your own.

We've accepted running a forum costs time and money for a decade... What we refuse to accept is people showing blatant disrespect for the community as a whole.

If you want to be a dick, because "that's the Internet", go and do it somewhere that is happy to accept that until they are run into the ground and you have to move on again.
 
I think Taramasalata is from Walsall. We really do have to stop shopping there - no good ever comes of it. The Brandy was shit, the Butler never turned up and now the dip is off.

Interesting nick though - something pink, runny, smelling of fish and likely to give you food poisoning if not taken care of..

I care ,just thought I'd say. This forum has been invaluable to me, well beyond football and Ive met some great people ,it becomes part of your day.The second thing I open on the internet when I turn my computer on. I have utmost respect for the guys who run it and maybe you would have the same if you tried to participate.
I would leave him on ,see what happens to a suicide bomber when the bomb doesn't go off. Does he fade away and disappear or try to get shot down in a blaze of glory ?

See, not a problem with that, a balanced reply, unlike some of the others on here.

My bugbear, as many have missed, was the finances comment. There are other ways of getting the point across as owners and moderators without resorting to that. Indeed, if this reply had been posted in sorts as the OP, it would have been a better message to the forum..

If I only recognise and respond to reasoned and well thought out posts, believe me, you will never get a well thought out response. Your posts have the smell of a second hand book shop, dog eared, slightly used and malodorous.

I actually think crepulant is a first for the English language never mind this forum. I'm not entirely sure but I'm assuming he meant crapulent/crapulant.
