Let's see if this helps, I've just listened to Clough and I hope I've managed to capture his thoughts in this summary:
Clough thinks Diego might be ready for an appearance next week in the JPT. There's a possibility of DG appearing this Saturday, but it seemed more likely that the JPT is where he'll begin a game. There might also be a chance for other squad players to feature in the JPT to give them game time.
Regarding loans, a possibility of a defender being here for Thursday, but that's all NC would say as he's obviously cautious of committing before a deal is tied up. NC wouldn't elaborate on which division the defender is currently playing in.
JCR might be ready to be in the squad this weekend, but again, it seems he stands more of a chance for the JPT. He clearly likes JCR, knows he can blow hot and cold, but realises that's what we must expect from Jamal, that when he does hit a purple patch that's when he's a real threat.
Baxter is still recovering, and NC seemed happy that Baxter's injury wasn't as serious as it could have been, so he's progressing nicely seems to be the message.
Not surprised how Chesterfield and Rochdale have settled in this division, so NC is ready for what will be a tough game on Saturday.
The thing that Clough repeated a few times was how he puts the best interests of United before anything else, so who goes out on loan depends on the benefits we'll gain for the player regarding the number of games they get under their belt. Diego was mentioned and that might be a consideration but then again it might not if DG looks as if he's ready to be part of the first team squad.
