So sack Cannon off, front choices , Ayew, BBD , Bamford, One, Campbell
Sack Ayew off. Along with Doherty, Shackleton and if we could, Rothwell.

Bring in a loan winger. Play BBD preferably thru the middle but as depth to the 3 behind the CF as needed.

It's about not idling away what scarce resource we have on players who bring nothing to the party and where we can, having players that cover more than one position.

Eh ? You talking in January I take it?

BBD was physical presence last night more so than Bamford, Ayew also held the ball up well. It was the first time for a while (especially first half), the ball hadn’t been coming straight back and it allowed us to keep the pressure on.
Imo , for striker , we now have BBD , Bamford , Ayew , Campbell , Oné , my deceased grandmother & one of those computerised GPS lawnmowers ahead of the nonentity that is Cannon.
Stick him on Gumtree now and see if someone will take him as a " nice little runaround" with delivery in January

Someone messaged in to the Blades Ramble Fallout following the Wrexham game and for me, hit the nail on the head re BBD. They said his attributes are better suited up front through the middle rather than out wide where he lacks in technical abilities.

I think its fair to say that a lot of Blades have thought for a while that BBD is a much better player played as a forward more in the middle, than out wide on either wing. Problem is, the one who makes that decision hasnt seen it that way, well most of the time anyway.

Maybe it could be claimed by CW that it was a case of needs must as we are short of wingers, but then he has chosen to go with not many out and out wingers in the squad, and he has had time now to bring in some. As for the lad himself, to his credit he hasnt kicked off, or spat the dummy out about not getting a chance down the middle. Fair play to him for that.

I still like the BBD signing, but only if he is played down the middle. Otherwise its a waste of everyone's time, and he should go back in May. Me? Id keep him and play him like we did v Wrexham. Strangely enough, his best game for us since he returned. Its not co-incidence.

The last time we had him (92 pt season) he played him wide left when he came on if I remember rightly in the final ! But didnt last long as he took a wak.
His 1st period with us was a successful one and was played mainly down the middle.
Contract will probably be up this summer so if he continues to shine down the middle maybe a permanant move would be a possibility! Just a cameo so far but maybe that could happen. Not as a winger though as he hasn't got the nous for a winger. Hopefully we have found an answer to a weakness we have had for sometime! time will tell!.

Tbh with cannon he wasn't that bad friday night when he came on. He won more duels in the air than any of the front 2 (or 4 however you look at it) when he came on than all of them put together. He put himself about and won ball/turn a couple as well and had a nice little run towards the end.

I do think he starting to put himself about a bit more and be more physical and surprisingly one of strongest attackers in the air.

That being said, if someone wants to bid £5m+ in January then id accept it, hes is still very hit and miss mind you. But we still dont play to his strengths.

I think CW changed to a 442 to try and accommodate him but still not flourishing regarding the goals or influence in a game and now seems to have lost his shirt again, I cant see how anyone is dropped for the next game.. hopefully we see a bit more of a consistent starting 11 and we start to settle down and push on.

As its the BBD thread, I will finish on the same thoughts as everyond else, much improved and better playing as a central striker. I would leave him there to fight it out, we have 5 for the 2 stsrting positions (they can go full tilt from the off and be replaced eorh the subs when flagging, if we keep the high energy high press up). Also 6 when One comes back.

I would then look to utilise the last loan spot for a prem winger for the right side who can also play centrally as a 10 if we need to change formation to include an attacking mid. We can see now who should be available with little game time.

definetly think upfront is bbd's best position but i will reserve judgement on him there till we play better teams than wrexham but he has got the physique for the role especially if cooper keeps playing it long
