Thank you.
To me it looks like Adam Oxley took note of the questions we compiled — Donovan, BBD and fan opinion.
Would have been good to ask about the formation for Friday, but I guess you can't have everything!
That's brave stuff from Adam Oxley - more incisive than anything I've heard previously.
So like a cunt , Wilder says a sarcastic "No I want to go backwards & negative"
What he doesn't realise ,
Is that many a true word in cheap sarcasm.
Wilder really thinks BBD deserves his place ?
Course he doesn't - but he's playing his old mate ahead of an electric PL loanee and he resets being challenged on it.
I've absolutely no time for Wilder now , the arrogant man living on his long-ago glory.
His tendrils need digging out of every dark corner of my club.
He should listen back to himself and cringe.

If we get something against Wrexham then I fancy us to get some decent results and potentially get into the playoff spots. Given the mess off the pitch that’s some achievement!
Think everything has to be taken into context and I agree.
We've had a messy summer with off field stuff that has effected on field matters. Certainly in terms of shaping the squad with transfers in and out.

The Championship is an unforgiving league and that's mainly because a bad run can really drop you down into the relegation spots.
But a good run can get you in the play offs. We are now that team, and we are not a team who should be pushing top2 or playoffs at a minimum.
We are a team that is potentially capable of promotion, mid table or relegation.

Given the negativity from the fan base from the get go, in terms of results we are tracking just above mid. This is better than some feared including myself.
The negativity too In my opinion completely understandable because who wants to see 3 of the best attacking outlets go with little in the direction inwards. And the prospect still of some sort of penalty/pts deduction not out the question still.
However I do think that there is an element that need to just take a step back and at least see how things transpire more.
As an example on a player front. So many fans slated the club and Wilder for bringing back Kalvin. He is starting to look like an excellent loan in recent weeks.

Midtable is ultimately where we’ll end up, so as of today’s standings we are slightly above par. I think some of the nitpicking & agitation is probably because we’re floating along at that level and there’s no likelihood of a managerial change if that remains to be the case.

I wonder if he's now playing the fan base against each other, knowing many are more than disgruntled with the shit fodder he is serving up. Proper fans (like him) vs those casual, football manager punters who know shit and can't even be bothered to go to Wembley and applaud the team off in defeat?

Funny as I remember him down the tunnel at the final whistle and not respecting those fans he's now seeking support from.

Every time I hear him talk I want him out of our club, he really is causing damage which could set us back years and a great cost.

I’ve heard from a reliable source that the bloke behind him in the pub who knows more about football was in fact Brian the Blade.
That explains his stubborn insistence to stick with 4-4-2

We haven't played West Ham, Boro, WBA, Southampton or QPR yet. Played Wolves and Swansea once. After the next 4, there's a run of 9 games when United will only be favourites, maybe, once. We will have a much better idea of what this team's likely finishing position will be then, 25 games in. I think we'll be in the bottom 6.

I think we’ll end up mid-table ultimately, but it’s much of a muchness from 7th to 20th and we’ll win a few and lose a few. Didn’t realise we were already 8 points above the relegation zone, which looks already to be drifting away.

If we’re in spitting distance of the playoffs come the approach to Christmas, that feels above par to me and a good achievement.

16 points from the first 12 matches, 1.33 point per game. The rest on this list will take us to 23 matches and half way. I think what to come is decidedly more difficult that what we've played so far. We play the 23rd match on Boxing Day. It will take a huge bump in performances to carry on at 1.33, which would be 31 points. I think it's much more likely we'll be around the 21-25 range which will be firmly in looking over shoulder territory

he's as i expected secretly furious donavon went on & got man of the match. im fully expecting him to be on the bench to prove a point

as Carlton above says we have to win the next 2 games & id say 7pts from next 3. because after Watford. its a horror show of fixtures for rest of the year

Dear Chris

Many chose not to to Wembley as it was quite obvious through the latter part of that season that YOU had lost your nerve.

Never mind different types of supporters, it's very clear there are different types of managers too. Those that get big matches over the line and those who don't.

A pig

I can’t really see a total of 21-25 points as being realistic given we’re on 16 points now. 21 points is 5 points in the next 11 games which seems a little unrealistic to be polite. Thats the same form as Preston (5 points in 12 games) to date and they are the worst team in the league, sacked their manager and are in utter disarray.

21 points is very much worst case scenario. But 2 wins, 3 draws and 6 defeats from what is a very difficult run of games isn't something I'd rule out at all. Based on performances, I'd say it's eminently possible

Yes, personally I wouldn’t rule +9 points as a base position. I think we’ll do better than that and remain in midtable. I also think Derby and PNE will detach from the midtable pack altogether.

Currently I’m OK with season to date and if we can get Donovan in the first XI I’ll be confident we can remain solid defensively and score & create more.

I hope you're right. Cooper, Phillips, Donovan, Bamford is the basis of a team that can pull off some surprise results. They just have to stay fit/selected

Wilder has a bit of a preoccupation with proving himself to be right , nothing wrong with that as managers are bound to have an ego, they all do.

However rather than dismissing the 'clamour' it might be better just to explain decisions to the punters , give some insight into his thought process .

Without doing so just comes across as arrogance and stubborness

Great news on Bamford though. Was dreading that would be much longer.

It could be though, Wilder gives nothing away to the opposition, remember him going ballistic with David Brooks posting a selfie outside the Northern General A+E.

Strangely some fans still think that Wilder should state what formation and which players will be chosen 2 days before each game.

Imagine Zelensky giving Putin 2 days notice of which oil refinery will be struck next.

Don't know why,but just get the feeling that Bamford will not be in tomorrows match day squad.

"we went to Wembley and some punters didn't want to go cos they were that negative about it. So when we didn't get that result in the 97th minute they said it justified that decision. Different types of supporters, I get it."
Hes quite right to call this out. We go on about pigs being deluded, we're as apathetic and negative as they are deluded.

Imagine we were 4 zip down in a league 1 play off, there'd be 5k at the return leg.

29/10/26 Press Conference Summary - Wrexham home

https://www.sufc.co.uk/videos/d0aa17e2-77b7-4e5d-ab12-a848b089c698

heavily paraphrased, just the first 15 mins this time as I was struggling to hear/make sense of later questions

Adam Oxley

How's Bamford's shoulder?

- took a big bang, assessed this week, hopeful he'll be available for Friday

Which is good new. McGuinness?

- ok. That was protocol. Trained well, be involved on Friday as well.

Other fitness issues, anyone back?

- disappointing news about Ryan, had a scan and it's a reoccurrence of same injury so be out a number of weeks. A robust player, his first real injury.

Shame for him as well.

- great at Lincoln, good preseason. Will have to get over it and come back stronger.

Lots of talk about Donovan again this week, MOTM last weekend, has he done enough to force his way into starting lineup?

- that's what I expect of all subs that come one, got to make an impact. Always in our thoughts but the system we play can't get 3 wingers into the team, Ben and Chong played v Lincoln and did well, they deserved to play v Bristol City. Romelle has to get himself into the team same as everybody else has. I'm not going to clamour to pressure off fans but I am seeing a really positive performance.

Young player and there are reasons why he hasn't started some games. He's been an impact sub for Brentford in the PL, not 38 games majority were cup games, so he's learning his trade, new club and different city now, different background, similar culture.

Has pushed himself forward as I expect all subs to. Tyrese came on and gave us something different. Harrison's pushing forward.

From a winger perspective has been some criticism of BBD performance last weekend, did do well v Lincoln but overall people feel needs to be a bit more from him, is that fair criticism?

- no don't think it is fair. He's come into the team, we've won games of football. If judging on 1st half performances there's 9 players satdi could aim criticism at, as well as myself. Addressed it at half time and second half was one way traffic. Got the crowd excited.

Some good results since int break but still a bit of negativity around parts of the fan base, how do you turn that around?

- don't think you can whatever club you're at so I can't waste my time thinking about people that ... you know, we went to Wembley and some punters didn't want to go cos they were that negative about it. So when we didn't get that result in the 97th minute they said it justified that decision. Different types of supporters, I get it.

- Trends statistically are moving forward now, more box action, more positivity at top of pitch, touches in opponents boxes, stuff like that. Still not a 3rd into season.

- Was stuff about Hurzeler last year when Brighton were 14th, he's now being tipped for Man Utd. So I'm old enough and experienced enough to know this happens, got to concentrate on getting a team that plays like we did second half, reach the ceiling that I know we can.

Like support though do you want to see overall performances grow and improve?

- no I don't, I want to see us go backwards Adam, want us to be negative ..

Do you accept though that from a performance level that can be better?

- yes, there's more to come. 1/4 way through the season. More to come from every team bar one or two, managers would say same. Find that winner next game pushes us to 18 points, top 8 after a challenging start that no other club has had.

What you made of Wrexham's start?

- everybody wants to be top 2 etc, they're the same, brought some players in. My challenge is us. 9 times out of 10 it's on me and the players, maybe 1 out of 10 it's on the fan base. Should have beat Derby.

Looking forward to this game? Some players coming back, been a bit of spice with them previous years, it's under the lights on a Friday night?

- I look forward to every game. It is a tasty game, it's not historical.

Danny Hall

looking forward to seeing Callum back?

- disappointing to lose him. A good guy, enjoyed working with him, super pro but he's an opposition player Friday night.

couldn't make out second question (turn your mic up mate!) summat about shaking his hand?

- don't like all that laughing and have a beer after the game , bit Roy Keane-ish. Shake hands before, but afterwards it's all done and dusted, don't like people with their hand over their mouths laughing and joking when they get beat.

Struggling again to hear/make sense of 3rd question so I've given up at that point (~ 15 mins for reference)
I'm really going off the man.

Unless, obviously, they're one of his pals.
He's heading for mental breakdown , which is probably the only way he'll leave us now.

Big shame, I knew this season would be a slog.. before the start of the season, the things I was most looking forward to were:

(1) those afternoon's where Brooks & Seriki combine to be unstoppable down the right
(2) Arblaster's continued recovery and improvement
(3) Ryan Oné's development in a United shirt.

We sold Brooks, filled the squad with cloggers and so far, Arblaster has only taken small steps.

Oné's continued absence brings more woe, but I'm not sure Wilder would pick him over BBD / Chong anyway. Look at Donovan.

---

On a side note, Wilder didn't address anything tactically second half against Derby.
We were still poor, then they went down to 10 men and he stuck Donovan on... and we still didn't win (home to 23rd in the division).
Bravo.
He does love the “it wasn’t tactical it was technical” which is his way of saying nothing’s wrong with how I told them to play, it’s how they executed it.

He can never fail with this statement. Whatever the plan was it will always be they failed to execute my great plan!
