i think all the empty seats theres likely to be again friday night should tell the owners that a change is needed our fanbase is at its lowest ebb since our penultimate season in league 1
I wasn't going to go on Friday, late, on the telly etc. and we aren't that good. Fortunately I had already booked, months ago, tickets for a show and so cant go anyway. No doubt I will get a letter from the club enquiring why I haven't gone. The reality is the clubs have sold their soul to Sky, the product is getting worse and ordinary fans simply aren't important anymore.

not only games being on sky our fans are staying away in droves because of the tactics and our slow boring play

Wilder has always had that thing where he's convinced that he can get a tune out of players who others have discarded, given up on for various reasons, past their sell by date and he's tried bringing in players like that, usually in the January window, and to be fair he's had some success with them, but a large part haven't come off.
The thing is that he's always had enough quality players in the squad that it didn't make any difference if they didn't come off, this season he's not got that safety net,and he's gone all in for that type of player again partly due to the circumstances off the pitch, but he's backed himself and his judgement and brought almost a whole squad of them,so now he's going to have to prove he can get a tune out of them for a whole season, and it looks like it's going to be a long up and down haul before we know he's right or wrong.

I'm going because October 30th will be the 55th Anniversary of my first ever match. It seems like the right thing to do.
October 28 1961 was the 1st game I remember. 2-2 against Fulham. May have gone earlier but I don’t remember it. My dad told me I was watching Johnny Haynes the England captain which is why I remember it. So it’s my 60th anniversary. I doubt I’ll be going. Sad really. I hope you enjoy it and we get a win. Beer and a curry with the wife preferable at the moment.

We have season tickets, but won't be going on Friday. It's already money spent and wasted. The club lied when they claimed we were going for a rebuild to get us to spend our money on season tickets.
The owners& Wilder knew it was a load of bolloxs they were spouting near the end of last season regarding the rebuild, your spot on, it was to get money in through season ticket sales, the lying bastards!

With all those US eyeballs on the game on Friday. We’ll no doubt reprise our role as the nondescript Washington Generals and make Disney FC look like the Harlem fucking Globetrotters.

We’ve won one and then drew now it’s time for a loss against Wrexham that’s the way it looks to me
Obviously can't say I know what will happen. But Wrexham are not in sparkling form. Last season at the lane they were pushing for top 6. That's not currently happening for them yet. Pressure is slightly on Parkinson.

Its been said to death but all being well we start Donovan and Peck. (Arblaster did do Ok Vs Bristol city) I'd start Seriki of course too if he's able to do the minutes.
Do this and we should be looking at taking the game to Wrexham.

Cooper, Choudhury/Seriki, Tanganga, Kitching, McCallum, Chong, Peck, Phillips, Donovan, Bamford (If fit), Cannon/BBD

Liverpool 1-1
In those days (1971) my ST was in the relatively new BLUT with my Dad , who'd been told by Mum that his days on the Kop were over , if he wanted their precious son to be a Blade.
We had a fabulous view of one of the best goals TC ever scored at the Lane , barring the one John Motson labelled a 'QG by a QP' 😊

Why would you get a letter for not attending, you have paid good money for that seat to be " entertained " its not your fault we are playing shite lump it / kick n run football thats as boring as fuck to watch.
I'd seriously think about a strong letter about the reasons your not attending being sent to the club.
Cheeky Cunts

Friday will be the only home game I miss this season because I’ll be flying home from Copenhagen and Sky are cunts. It doesn’t matter how bad things get, I’ll always be there because supporting a team playing in red & white stripes at Bramall Lane is the closest thing to permanence I’ve had in my life and that has been the case for almost 60 years.

Having said that, I don’t blame anyone for choosing not to go. Everyone has different circumstances, not everyone has my 25 minute journey to the Lane and for many money is very tight with Christmas on the horizon. Also, the quality on display at the moment is inexcusably shite. I’ll still go but I’m not going to pretend the match itself is an enjoyable experience, and it hasn’t been for a few years now. Thankfully I know that at some point that will change, because everything does eventually. That’s where the hope lies, and until then I’ll tough it out.

the winner against leeds in the league cup is my favourite tc goal we battered em that night

The thought of Wilder being in charge when the next transfer window is upon us scares the crap out of me, same too if he has any say in contract negotiations. We really do need to get rid of Wilder before December to give a new manager time to see what we need and who we don't need.

i can see us being down to 16/17k season ticket holders next season unless theres a change of manager or theres a vast improvement in our style of play before the end of the season

Wouldn't surprise me either.

The reality is that not all football fans are the same despite often being treated as such.

Personally I'll continue to go whilst health and wealth allows because it's something I don't think I could walk away from. I don't go to as many away games as I did 20 plus years ago but that's rarely to do with the fare on display. I don't need one hand to count the number of home league games I've missed over the last 30 to 40 years but I completely understand at present why some will stop going as frequently.

The bigger Blade thing is just daft because no club has a 100% devoted fanbase no matter what.

The cost at present, especially on the day prices, aren't cheap for many people anyway so I can fully appreciate it's a big outlay to watch the tedious uninspiring stuff on display most weeks. It's not about not winning necessarily, people understand you can't always be at the top of the league, you just want to see a bit more ambition and attacking intent when, despite not having the best Champ squad, the players available should be able to serve up more than they are.

Loyal fans are obviously within their rights to stick up for the current situation and feel differently to others, but the reality is that when the product on show isn't very good to watch and isn't being glossed over by winning fairly often, some will choose to spend their hard earned differently.

I agree there's probably a little more entitlement and over-expectation around at present because of recent years, but no-one will convince me at present that this is the best that this squad can serve up.

Last few lines of the first paragraph are the same for me. This is my 60th season as well. First indépendant decision I made as a kid was to support the Blades. Everyone who’s ever known me would know my allegiance

Just seen the video of the game - what a strike by TC!
Remember that day very well Hughes giving Currie grief pre match about how he couldn't run, worked in the morning at Deepcar I was a passenger in the car coming back from work and looking forward to the match we were stood in traffic when a car shunted our back end and knocked us into the car in front, looked like I could be late for the match but I managed to get away unhurt got to the match saw Currie's spectacular goal then finished the day off in the Buccaneer happy days.

It’s weird cause the fan sentiment wasn’t this bad even during the 23/24 prem season.

Everyone seems completely demotivated the current set, with the only variable being how confident they are voicing their discontent in fear of one of the wilder shaggers having a go.
