This has probably been discussed but it needs its own thread 😂😂

“If it’s Chong, people are saying ‘why are you not playing him’ - if it’s Ben, ‘why are you not playing him?’”

Fuck me. Comedy genius. He's lost his fucking mind. Nobody has ever or will ever ask those two questions 😂 and he knows it!

He doesn't say any of those words in that clip. Did you share the wrong one ?
Yes I may have I was watching it from a thread of a few clips and had tears running down my face

Full interview is on the link on the tweet

There's a lot of chat on here about whether he should go now or next summer.
And then reluctant recognition that - despite his awful recruitment , set-up & tactics leading to boringly leaden performances - the owners won't remove him till we're in the relegation zone.
However , it brings to mind his mental collapse & walk-out in 2021.
Taking that into account , I wonder if there's enough evidence from his decisions this summer and early-season methods , to assemble a decent case for having him sectioned in the interests of his own mental health ?

TBH I was in the camp of getting rid of him in the summer. The start we had I was convinced I was right. But where we are in the league and the players, we have I think we need to see what he does in January. What players will he get in etc. His tactics are old school, but he does get results!
Yes- results like scraping a draw at home to one of the worst teams in the league.

We know what he will do in January though. There won't be any exciting signings just "good solid Championship pro's who get the culture" and those players will probably be 34 plus and can't get game time at Prem level or fringe players at the likes of Preston who can't get in their eleven.

Personally I don't trust Wilder with another window, if he is staying then go with what we have as any other signings will probably push us back even further.

And his "results" are mixed at best. we were shocking against a poor Derby side until the sending off and the stubbornness to persist with certain players, (BBD, Blaster, Choudhury, Cannon, Chong) is baffling.

I said some months ago that Wilders job this year was simply to hold a steady course and keep us safe . I also said that i'd hope we can avoid the weird team selections and weirder interviews.

Unfortunately those last signs are steadily creeping in which is a bit of a worrying pattern we've seen before .

I absolutely respect his experience and knowledge but he's seeing things few others are seeing and thinking things few others are thinking .

We'll get a few results but dont see this ending well.

It might be his funniest quote, but your obsession is quite boring.

the original post confuses me, are you happy about this situation? why all the bizarre laughing faces? say what you will about wilder but he’s given us all a heck of a ride and amazing memories, the best of my life, so now we’re in a tough spot why are you enjoying yourself so much? It’s a live interview, so sometimes people say stuff that don’t fully make sense or it’s a rush or whatever. It’s undoubted that he knows the narrative after Donovan came on and did so well, so he’ll clearly be a bit embarrassed, an experience I think we’ve all felt at some point or another, it’s just not been highlighted and talked about by 20,000+ people.

Because it's fucking hilarious sweetheart. If you don't think that quote is funny there's something up with you. It's funny as fuck 😂

He's a busted flush and I like most others are bored to death of watching it

He won't be though. Hasn't he already said that he brought Donovan on at the right time?
He'll probably make some comment about "PlayStation Managers" if anyone mentions it again because HE IS NEVER WRONG.

Hes given himself a pat on the back and put the 2nd half down to his half time team talk.

Forgetting that we were equally shite until the red card and subs that followed.

Looking at the 🐂 💩 he comes out with in some of his pre- and post-match pressers I do wonder if he is close to another mental breakdown like when he walked out of the club to have months away from management before going to Boro then Watford.
On his famous 92pt season when the pressure mounted late in the season he lost the plot again ending up offering out Plymouth players and other shenanigans. By this time he was an ultra cautious version of the bloke who took us to the Premier League and famously went ultra defensive at Wembley handing Sunderland a way to promotion.
We have all seen his traits of stubbornness and how he blames anyone but himself when things go wrong be it the Refs, players or even the fans, it is never him. Weird how he picks his players when everyone can see they are not performing and there are better options, see Brewster, Cannon to justify the huge fees spent on duds. Then there is Choudhury, BBD, Reiderwald, Rothwell, Shackleton to name a few who have been crap this season. It's like an obsession to prove he was right all the time, questionable team selections, tactics and mind-boggling substitutions all point to a man not thinking straight due to the enormous pressure of being a lone figure with a finger in every pie running a big club. We are not small outfits like Alfreton town, Halifax or Northampton. Same owd once again, same owd, will he go out through the back door again if results get worse?
