Said I before, but now more than ever. Go get Mousinho before it's too late. Blokes doing wonders at Pompey, he's a young manager and more importantly isn't tactically inept
I take it you didn't read Roy's view from just before we played them.

No I didn't but take it they wasn't happy? Pretty sure they'll be happy since then now? Unbeaten in 4 winning 3 on a shoestring budget compared to ours.

Also takes them out of league one after god knows how many years. Keeping them up whilst still being competitive without any actual funding. Pretty sure he'll be somewhere else sooner rather than later

wilder is under huge pressure despite nearly winning that. because how donavon embarrassed him. we all seen the complaints about the atmosphere & when donavons came on. the atmosphere was fantastic. its just tactics that gave us nothing to get behind

If we lose to wrexham & preston. i assume we are back in lincoln territory of charlton & watford being almost must win for wilder.

wilders stubborn behaviour & blindness that is meaning he is always 3 bad performances from "sacked in the morning"

I still think he’ll grind out enough results until we’re safe. Then it becomes a whole new ball game.

I’d like to know why he feels playing our best midfielder as an auxiliary centre half for large periods of the game was a good idea?
Ridiculous behaviour. Left Arblaster against 3 in midfield but massaged Phillip’s passing stats.

I’d have been screaming at Phillips to get up the pitch and let Tanganga/Kitching play 5 yard passes.

Can’t disagree with any of that. But as a Wilder stalwart, I really don’t want things to get ugly…Alas, I think the writings on the wall now.

As a Blade himself, surely Wilder can see what the fans appreciate in a footballer. Young Donovan invigorated the crowd in what was a turgid atmosphere at the lane against Derby.
The Derby fans on the train home couldn’t believe the lack of noise from our lot throughout the game.

Post international break played 4 win 2 drawn 1 lost 1 7 points from 12 possible 1.7 points per game if we kept that up we’d finish on 74 points. Which would have been 6th last year.

That is what the owners will look at.

Forget what we think and forget the footballs crap

They're not the only ones.

You also have to look at who we have played in that period which is mostly teams in terrible form. I can't see us getting anything from the likes of Boro, West Ham etc other than hammerings.

It was clearly by design so I can’t hold it against Phillips. We’ve been trying to employ that tactic a long time so the wing backs can push high and wide but it’s never really worked for us. Plus, as you say, left Blaster 3v1 at times.

I actually thought Phillips was one of few players to play well but he needed to be 20 yards further up the field.

ive said many times that my position is. im happy to finish 14th & he gets the full klopp farewell at the final home game. but its just a feeling we can't continue to get lucky in the way we have

I think you're right , in the sense that the squad falls off a cliff next summer.
All the expensive loans & short-term contracts finish.

I'm praying that the owners have looked in the history books at our squad situation when Bassett arrived & when Wilder arrived.

ie: ripe for a clearout and ideal for a new manager to have some scope for recruitment.

The very moment we are safe , hopefully before the last game , they need to be tapping-up a replacement so the research for players can begin before the window.

The £64k questions are :

Have they already planned a viable structure to support a modern head coach ?
Have they realised that continuing with Wilder will bring no progress ?

Or are they going to reward Wilder with a new contract for playing crap footy but avoiding relegation with a top 8 wages budget ?

I've no confidence in them even being bothered enough to consider these questions , so I'll just keep praying 🤣

It's one of the things that worked in 2019 but now, teams put so much more value on ball carrying and athletes in Central areas that it means there are acres for opposing CMs to carry the ball

Philips was my MoM.
He's a DM being asked to be the creator which is not his game.
Blaster was useless in a two.
Our midfield was set up wrong.
No point having two up front when Cannon is a chocolate fireguard.
Needed a 3rd midfielder who can break the defensive lines.

His legacy is the only reason he's here still. 100% best manager of my lifetime of watching Blades, but he's a shadow of that manager now.
Every successful manager in their later years are more scared of losing than winning I remember George Graham saying that so experienced managers set up not to lose Sam Alladyce has made millions from it!

Never talked to so many down beat fans today but I’m afraid he’s here to the end of the season at least
There could be a chance that he walks before the end of the season - if it gets on top of him again and he looses the fans . He clearly senses the love in is evaporating , the goodwill towards him is now almost non existent following a defeat or even a draw . Infact when we win some can’t wait to pile on .

We will continue to win a few , lose a few etc and therefore, imo , the above will intensify

He has become job weary and the supporters have become / are becoming, Wilder weary .

It is inevitable that he moves on , the sooner the better tbh - let’s hope he goes with dignity and reclaims the rightful high regard he has earned from everyone.

I agree with a lot you've said here but not a chance he walks. The bloke is too stubborn, he'll argue with you even though he knows he's wrong, or even worse switch it around on us fans like he did in his post match comments on Donovan.

The next 4 games look fairly favourable, so things could really get ugly if we don't get 2-3 wins out of them I reckon.

It’s feeling a bit like Wenger’s last years at Arsenal. Another manager who had gained far too much power within a club, was declining, stubbornly refused to change, but was kept way past his sell by date because of what he had achieved in the past.
