I do wonder for those that are critical of Wilder how they'd be if we were in Derbys position or Norwich city?! Saying that, I'm sure every club is the same and they'll be possibly more fans at Derby and Norwich wanting their manager gone than to stay. I rate Eustace a lot, not sure why that's gone so wrong. Signing Brewster hasn't helped them much! 😂 Now that was an awful Wilder signing but he'd done really well at Swansea you have to admit?! 😂 I remember thinking it was a top signing.

I just hope someone appoints Dave Challibor before Wednesday eventually realise that Pederson is very average.

Challinor or Cooper would be my choice if we dump Wilder, (don't think we will).

Challinor gets the pigs promoted without a doubt, can't believe he hasn't got a job yet after leaving Stockport. Thought he might have ended up at Preston when Hecky got the boot.

Cooper has a mixed record in my view. He got lucky I think at Forest inheriting a very good team, similar to Lampard at Coventry, albeit both teams were struggling when said managers took over.

I'd love Challinor if we did change Wilder. I'd have actually gone for Challinor in preference to Wilder returning for the third time because Challinor is younger and reminds me of when we appointed Wilder the first time round ironically. It would have been less divisive too. Mind, id never have sacked Wilder after the play off defeat to Sunderland.

I think re Preston that Challinor would serve that challenge, I know I would if I was him. Alexander took it because he's a PNE legend.

The mandate for that season was always promotion and nothing short of it was good enough, autos were in our hands even in March we were top. I will always say it was the correct decision to get rid but it was a mistake about the Selles appointment. MK3 Wilder made sense as realistically at that time there wasn't anyone else available unless we risked another young or foreign manager however wasn't quite sure what he did to deserve an extension of his contract in the summer.

I wouldn't mind cooper as well. Really has faith in the youth and academy lads and seems to be a very good coach and tactician!

The mandate was promotion but I do think 92 points with season ending injuries to Arblaster and Souttar was cruel and cust us. Leeds and Burnley had exceptional teams. Burnleys defence was just unreal.

The board decided to sell Bogle to Leeds also although I get why because Bogle was in the last year of his contract.

I think k he got the one year extension for doing well last season although you might disagree with whether he did well.

Agree that injuries cost us but the football was shocking. I can count on 3 fingers the amount of times i left a game that season thinking "we played well today". We got away with a lot of results in what was a poor league.

Agreed Leeds and Burnley had excellent teams, however we were still top end of March and that was post Souttar injury, the results that cost us wasn't even the Burnley away result but matches such as Oxford at home (3 points dropped), Millwall at home (3 points dropped) , Plymouth away (3 points dropped), Blackburn at home (2 points dropped) we win those fixtures which with the side we had we were well capable of doing so we go up automatically on 101 and still didn't need to beat Leeds or Burnley that season.

The reason why I can't quite understand it although, last season could have ended in disaster and he did do well in steadying the ship and bringing in a couple of inspired signings. He never seems to have a long term plan, the football we are playing at times is beyond poor and the fitness levels of the players are very questionable. I don't buy into the whole culture ideology, the fans carry the clubs identity but unless it's your boyhood club the players are there for the money and a short time ride. How many times did Dean Henderson thump the blades badge, a quality keeper but he has done that at every club he has played at.

We need a strategy review, from what can we do differently and that needs to be fitness, possession and quality of players, we need to understand as a club and a fan base we aren't Premier League or anywhere near it and start looking at the likes of Brentford and seeing what we can do. How scouting is done is key, their biggest success so far is Bryan Mbeumo signed from Troyes for £5.8 million sold to Man United for £65 million + add ons 6 years later and during his time at Brentford he played 222 times scoring 65 goals (and he signed for them in the Championship) it shows there is value for money if we can scout it out.

Looking at those fixtures, and it says to me, we should be getting at least 12pts all look winnable on paper Preston, Derby and Charlton are in dreadful form just now.
At least 4 wins out of 5?

Pretty high bar.

The Championship is so unpredictable.

This does feel like the straw man style argument where a very high, some might say unrealistic expectation is set and when it falls short it opens the floodgates to criticism. You wouldn’t cheekily be doing that would you? 😉

For me 10 is realistic though I’d accept your 12 of course!
