I think it was Champagneblade who posted about him giving out ammunition with that talk.

The fact he's doubling down on it isn't a good look at all imho.

The Brexit Blades stuff from years ago was silly because our strategy at that point made sense and was understandable.

However, imho he's making himself look past his sell by date now with those comments in the current climate and our circumstances over the last 5 or 6 years.

To compound it this Everton reference doesnt even add up.

I sadly believe he's lost his mojo which is a damn shame as he's not that old in managerial terms and what we had not that long ago was something special.

As much as i honestly believe we need to go down a different path and if you like a more modern route for the long term health of the club, I really hope he turns it around this season and goes out on his own terms rather than under a cloud which doesnt feel that far away if we have a handful of poor results and performances.

was a bit odd, but then just after he mentioned Scottish players so not sure he really means owt by that. Does seem a bit strange to come out with this line again though and also the reference to Retsos.

Tbf to him I think he means he prefers players with good experience of our leagues irrespective of their nationality or heritage, rather than just not liking foreign players.

However, i think a club like us today really should have broader horizons.

It's hard to say what he means, honestly. I think the charitable interpretation is that he's most comfortable working with players that are familiar with British football culture. But even that is basically acknowledging his own limitations as a manager.

I'd actually enjoyed the presser up to that point and then my heart sank.
 
You hear Wilder's press conference, you listen to the words around "British" and "culture," you see the breakdown in the relationship between him & Brooks / Seriki.. and you start to reach some conclusions.

He can't manage a modern dressing room.

I'm not necessarily 'Wilder Out,' because I don't trust there's any structure around the club to make us successful... but I do have major fatigue with him and I can't see patience lasting too long.

He’s bringing up Retsos as he’s the only other proper first teamer we brought in from Europe under Wilder 1.0. That he wasn’t played is neither here nor there, he’s the equivalent of a “black mate”.

Why are Everton and David Moyes the only Prem team we can model ourselves on? The most uninspiring, drab Prem team of the last 20 years who’ve achieved nothing. What about the other 19 Prem teams who have broadened their horizons to recruit athletes and technical talent from abroad which has been key to any success?

It’s tiresome and we’ll never modernise whilst Wilder is here. The focus should be on the now and the future and I want to understand what the plan is to advance the football club.

He could point it at his noddle and fire it but the owners still wouldn't have the nouse to realise he lacks the capacity to do any part of his job well.

I think Lincoln are going to be up for this game, newly promoted, something to prove, energetic, in our face from the first minute to the last and determined to take what they may still regard as a big scalp.

The complete antithesis of our current squads performances, I just can’t see any good news for Wilder in this fixture and Bert will be giving the Gentleman’s club a swerve tomorrow night
 
Loves to waffle on and take credit about 92 points, but neglects the fact our 3 main players were Brazilian, Bosnian and Dutch and bangs on about how British based players get the culture and no one else. Luckily they were signed by someone more open minded than him otherwise we’d have probably never got to see them play for us.

He’s a liability and turning into a pissed up embarrassing Uncle that you see once a year too often. Could you imagine how offended he’d be if Selles had said all English players are unfit pissheads?

Maybe a dig about Bords recruitment. Counter argument is Berge Anel and Souza gave good value whilst they were here. 2 out of the 3 were not brought in by the current recruitment incumbents

The owners have put in £20 million for players. Counter argument its the deficiencies of the recruitment team that are responsible for Chong, McGuinness, Matos, Cannon etc. Thats why we are having to recover the £20 million put in.

A win is essential to lift the gloom around the Club . Unfortunately the content of this press conference hardly instills confidence this will happen.
