Normally I’d agree, especially if we’d had a couple of unlucky results, had some exciting signings who hadn’t clicked yet or had some top players due to return from injury.

However, we’ve been the worst team in seven of the eight matches so far this season with no green shoots anywhere, so it’s really hard to see why it’s too early to tell.

When the fixtures first came out a lot of people commented on how tough our fixtures looked from November throughout December.

We need to pick up as many points as we can before that period because it does look horrendous on paper.

We’ve played and lost to three of the fancied sides / sides who’ve spent big: Wolves, Norwich and Stoke. Norwich we were crap, Stoke we were crap but only lost to two cracking goals, Wolves we lost to a scrappy late goal but matched them for periods of the game.

We drew 0-0 with Swansea who didn’t look anything special.

That’s 4 of our 8 games.

We have a lot of sides to play like Boro, WHU, West Brom who will all be up there and will certainly be favourites to win.

Blackburn and Bolton were both shite and we managed to beat them. There’s a lot of beatable sides in this division and I think from what I’ve seen we’ll still do enough to be mid table at worst.

We’re not settled and not clicking, but we’ve seen glimpses that we can open teams up, we need to take our chances better and we need the likes of Seriki, Burrows, McCallum, Chong and One all back fit to give us more quality and / or pace in the side.

Ifs, buts and maybes but that’s always the way when the squad is low on depth

Yep, of all the teams we've played so far they gave us the biggest going over without doubt.

unless there's a dramatic turn around before Christmas there will be every need to panic.

We have a team bereft of ideas.
A shocking defence.
A lacklustre midfield
A forward line who can't score.
A manager who can't motivate the players he's got.
And owners who are not only skint, they have no idea what they are doing.
What could possibly go wrong?

Backed us to go down at 15/1 purely as a 12 point deduction hedge. We should be fine without one but if we get a 12pt deduction I fear we are toast. And for all we may have deserved a point v Wolves and Stoke we definitely didnt deserve to beat Bolton so thst evens itself out.

I'd tend to agree on the balance of our performances. The prices offered though sometimes anticipate what might happen in the short, as well as the long term.

Looking at our fixtures between now and the Watford game on 21 November, there's a decent possibility we might, at worst, maintain our current points per game during that spell and (hopefully) look relatively safe.

As others have said, we have a more daunting looking December, so it will be interesting to see what price we are at the turn of that month.

Yeah Bolton were decent going forward but were very vulnerable at the back.

Norwich were the one side from the 8 so far that looked a level above us and yet they lose at home to Bolton

There were odds of 40/1 at the beginning of the season. Think of it like home insurance, you never want your house to crumble but at least if it does you'll be compensated.

Or for a tailored SUFC analogy the house is showing serious signs of subsidence and cracking. While most of the house hasn't been renovated for decades.

We were 20/1 with Bet365 before the COH medical/transfer was announced.
IMO the 100/30 is reasonable taking into account what our owners, management and team have produced up this point of the season.
TBH, I would have expected us to be around the 9/4 or 2/1 mark and maybe fourth from the bottom of that list!. I base that on, although we have shown glimpses of good play, overall we have been mainly poor, slow & ponderous, unimaginative, uncreative, mentally & Physically fragile and looked highly likely to give up and/or down tools should we fall behind. Our erratically poor defence is the main problem (what exactly is Phil Jones doing with these guys in training!?), as this is dragging our mediocre midfield further down the pitch to try to help out!, which is then leading to the lack of chances being created for our front players, who are themselves wasting the rare goalscoring opportunities that have come their way!
That is merely my opinion of the season so far!. We have better players to return from injury and 3 wks to (hopefully) get this group of players playing as a cohesive team/squad. IF, the manager & coaches are unable to do this!, that is/will be when we need to make the change/s lots of fans are currently shouting for!!.
To state the 'Bleedin' Obvious', October's will be crucial games!
