Wilder will keep us up. We have a lot of unfit players who haven't played a lot of football in the last 12 moths. On top of that the board sell three of our best players. Alan Knill being pushed hasn't help(always thought he had an eye for a player). Under these circumstances I fail to see which manager could do better? Any suggestions welcomed.

There's been many a time throughout my career when I've bemoaned why the hell am I Blade. ( I blame me Dad).
This is one such time, yes because we're actually not very good at the moment and Wilder has some questions to answer, but it's the sheer vitriol of some of the comments - mainly in the Wilder Out camp which just sicken me and as for the cretinous comments re Arblaster and Wider's daughter, well I'd just love to see you say it to his face. He's said judge me at Christmas - that's fair enough for me.
He's had his 3 best players sold from under his feet - the last one giving us no chance to replace him.

They're free for a reason.

Its not identifying good or bad , think we can all do that and rightfully say so. How anyone makes it better I wouldnt know but someone will .

Before I retired i'd spent over 30 years in an industry, decisions I made were questioned ,rightly so and to explain I'd been doing the job longer than they'd been on the planet wasnt a good way of getting buy in .

The obvious answer wasn't obvious for lots of reasons , financial, technical, risk , legal, could be one or all and more .

Suppose football management is like that , we can all see what doesn't work but putting it right isnt quite as simple as it looks .

On the other hand i knew people with years of experience who , despite something not working , stuck to their guns to prove themselves right and ultimately got fired due to ego in the main.

Wilder is probably a bit of both , its not as easy just to pick that player in that position or play a formation.
However his own self belief and ego , the will to prove everyone wrong may well be his downfall.

He's going to have to find something in the break , more than players being available and probably have to have a rethink , if not theres only one way it'll go.

I'd say the away support is collapsing I had three family at Stoke, One has enough loyalty points to go to every game one is a student the other like myself is on 30 odd thousand points he didn't renew either this season. What two of them are doing is just going to away games to tick the grounds off while they can. For the relatively close fixtures they no longer have put their names on the ballot, most are now going to general sale. They are certainly not going to see entertaining football more like just a day out in different surroundings spoilt by 90 mins of Wilder ball. 1500 or so at Stoke is a pathetic away following for us.

Half as many seats sold as the 90 point season when we were on a slump after missing out on autos. No one from my group is bothering with away days unless it’s a local Saturday one.

There’s probably a correlation between the wilder mafia travelling fans and the end destination for all those free tickets with C. Wilder on them.

It was a financial reality ever since we missed out on the play offs. Chris could have pushed cashing in a year ago on the likes of Gus but like every manager they are greedy until they have no choice.

We lay money on the following each week, please tell me the grand total of this lot couldn’t have been deployed on fewer resources of higher quality:

Jamie Shackleton - small, injury prone
Matt Doherty - old, unfit
Hamza Choudhury - ok CM but not a RB
Jairo Riedewald - fallen off a cliff
Joe Rothwell - Rangers fans said he was crap
Therese Campbell - within a month of new deal, not making squad
Jordan Ayew - old, unfit
Tom Cannon - enigmatic but if we needed 5m+, O’Hare was more pivotal than him

So by all means acknowledge that Gus and Cal were positive contributors to the team but let’s not pretend the manager has not been allowed to deal and let’s not pretend that money has been well allocated.

He also knows it has to change quickly or we will get embroiled in a relegation scrap.like Ancient blade and Anston blade I've seen all this before and we end up loses with fans turning on each other Bassett era a classic example.
Wilder feels he has been sold a pup we knew players would go trying to bridge the gap with the new regulations hitting us hard these Americans seem still niev as losing key players without some plan to replace them leaves us where we are ! A struggling team.
Do our owners think it's not a real problem as there is no relegation in the states.
They better start worrying now as historically our record in the Championship is riddled with failure when we get into trouble .
Most times when relegated ( infact everytime) from championship the situation has been the same! Too big a club too big a budget we will pull clear!.Plenty of examples when that's not the case with us and other clubs too: pigs Leicester,Sunderland and Leeds : i think that's enough to go on with.
We have to stick together through this and that includes the Wilder out brigade although I know that won't stop them carrying on with the tearing the fans base into 2 factions Wilder out Wilder in ! .
I'm as frustrated as any blade with whats going on with the ownership ! It won't help at all sacking Wilder at this point.
