Was it quiet inside BDTBL today

A tad disappointed with the floods of people who left after they scored as I felt we had an equaliser in us until RND rolled that throw in to their defender and the ref blew
I can never understand the sudden exit when the opposition score near the end - I accept some people have good reason to leave early but for the majority it just looks childish.

'Greasy Chip Butty' seems to be ignored by the majority - other than at away games

The SUTV stream tends to be quieter than Sky Sports as it seems to suppress crowd noise, probably because it’s normally radio comms matched to the video stream

And then some! I was just lucky I didnt get the V word directed at me.

Ive often found when they lay the radio sheffield commentary, over the viaplay stream, it's not as loud, I remember thinking the same for the bouncing day match.
I don't think this one is on Radio Sheffield though, as Paul Walker is providing the World Feed commentary which I guess is added to the original audio/video stream. Anyway, they got the levels totally wrong. I was also watching on Viaplay Suomi and once you pump up the volume enough it sounds like a normal atmosphere + Paul Walker shouting! 😬

It was louder in the South Stand but mainly abuse aimed at the mard arses on their bench.

I've seen Shoreham Boys 89 complaining on Facebook. They got standing. They got their singing section. They got their flags.

Song sheets and a drum are the next suggestions.

Me too. The least the players deserved after a proper performance against a very good Wolves team.

They do it because it actually bothers people like you
It doesn't bother me at all. I sit near the away fans and they all sing it. Sometimes after a minute, which is obviously stupid. My simple judgement is, the later the rendition, the better we are playing.

It sounded good to me in the first half, but I was a bit emotional as its was my girls first time hearing it. I used to sing it to them to get to sleep when they were little.

On the way home I asked who sung it better, 26,000 people or daddy? apparently I need to work on my singing...

(missed second half due to queuing for chips, not something I normally have to deal with when I am on my own!)

I was actually thinking about the people who are around me in the South Stand.
They just carry on with their normal conversations.
You feel a bit out of place singing!

You can't blame him for trying everything. He's put a lot of time and effort into trying to improve things. Sadly he's realising it's probably a waste of energy, as while people moan about the lack of atmosphere, very few actually want to raise the noise levels.

I was watching the game on Paramount+ in the US today at 7am. Paul Walker was the commentator of the game but one thing struck me:

It seemed so quiet inside the stadium today.

Was it or was it the stream I was watching? It seemed so sterile!!!!

It was quite loud at times actually

Been speaking to Lee on WhatsApp and trying to come up with some good ideas. I’m not sure he realised they the Italian ultras he’s looking to emulate live, work and socialise together, they just don’t meet at the ground for the game.

United’s fanbase is way to cliquey to get a similar thing going unless more are willing to give up their usual pre-match routine and pick a place to meet up before the game.

Walk in the Sheaf or Cricketers and sit in someone ‘usual’ seat and you’ll soon find out why we can’t get a big group of ultras together.

oh for 'the sportsman' more atmosphere in there and the backyard between 12 and 3 on matchdays than we get inside the lane thesedays kop not the same anymore and apart from h block in tc nothing at all from that stand or john st

Is it just me or is it time to shelve this. Back in the day it was spontaneous but now it seems - awkward and half hearted. As you say the away rendition works and sounds real.
