There’s no chance Sterling or anyone of that calibre signs for us or anyone in this league- but honestly, why not? What I don’t understand is how some footballers are happy to sit around not playing for anyone, purely because they’re stubbornly holding out for the highest wages.

Benzema, Sancho, Pogba, Ceballos, Coutinho, Zinchenko, Sterling, Mahrez, Martial, Guerreiro, Carvajal, Icardi, Zaha, Alli, Alaba, Ramos, Vardy, James, Vestergaard, Januzaj

Most of them are probably close to retirement or have achieved everything in football already that its pointless, but a few should just go and play football exactly like Vardy has decided to do. At some point, you’d think the love of the game would outweigh the obsession with squeezing every last penny out of a contract. Especially when most of the names have had a very good career anyway.
