We are still top 6 in terms of squad value and wage bill, so why do we look like a bottom 6 team?

That’s on the manager and coaching team

Feel for CW but you can see he’s going through the motions as are the players

Apathy United

Need a new voice to get em going

Ps- Sympathise with losing Brooke’s Hamer and Cal, but he’s had funds to bring in Donovan, Phillips, kitching and Choudhury

I’m not advocating anyone losing their job.

And I’m not being wise after the event but a very brief study of their prior matches shows that even though they lost the games, they out created West Brom 2 to 1 who played 4-4-2. They did the same to Stoke who played 3-4-3 even though they also lost. Millwall battered then with 4-3-3.

For a team seeking direction on how they should play, why would you not attempt to pose the same challenges with which they struggled?

Likewise after Choudhury was torn a new arse hole midweek, why not try someone else there? Shackleton, for all we deride him, looked ok midweek.

I’ve struggled to see much of the game but these seem really basic fundamentals.

Those that saw it all feel free to tell me I’m talking out of my hat, but these seem two obvious learning points. We watch the opposition right? Then why would we replicate West Brom’s line up when West Brom should really have lost to them?

Agree with most of that. What’s sad is the fact we’ll set up the same next game but maybe change like for like. He needs to look at when he changed us in league 1 when we were struggling at the start and change something.

Get him gone, this is painful. Anyone with a different idea, tactics or just someone who has achieved something in the game since 2020.
Is this going to be brought up every time we don’t win a match?. Are you forgetting the uncertainty off the pitch who would want the job?. I’m far from a Wilder fan boy but I don’t see what other options we have. The decision to sell all of our best players without properly replacing them has put us in this position.

All the players that we sold wanted to go . Maybe its because of the manager ?

Tainted his legacy for me, shouldn’t have left and shouldn’t be here now. Don’t trust the owners either so we can’t win unless we luck out with someone new. What a sad state of affairs…

There is a reason that they say you should never go back.

So you blame the board for a player wanting to move for more money.
No I blame the board for not properly replacing the players they sold, BBD for Hamer, an inexperienced 19 year old that will be inconsistent for Brooks and no one for O hare isn’t good enough and isn’t on Wilder. No he’s not perfect and clearly has faults but hasn’t been helped at all.

Or other clubs offering the player more money maybe?
Wilder has brought in players just the wrong ones as you can see from the performances or lack of them .This baby sits with wilder and his coaching staff if they do any coaching apart from run to a cone and back . devoid anything around them, set plays are garbage. No structure. no one seems to know what they're doing .And so on .Wilder needs to be sacked tonight for me

Everything will have to go completely off the rails for this ownership to sack Wilder a second time. They lack the football expertise and the courage to go down that road again.

Wilder has had a budget, albeit not top 6 level, but a budget none the less to be competitive in this division.

He has completely pissed it up the wall on players we either didn't need (Phillips, Doherty) or players that have proved aren't good enough (Choudhury, BBD).

We've not addressed a single issue from what we were lacking last season which was pace and creativity. We're incredibly easy to play against and the signings he has made have done nothing to alleviate that (Donovan excepted).

He's hiding behind the ownership issue and is getting pretty much a free ride because of it but it doesn't wash with me, and that number will only grow when we put out pathetic displays like the last 3 games.

Agreed, they fucked up replacing him last time and will be scared shitless to appoint another potentially shit manager. Scary times if this is what we’ve got for the rest of the season.

who asks the board for the players he wants ?

So you are happy with the board and think they have supported him well enough in the summer then?

These ‘reliable’ experienced players Wilder has brought in with our limited funds:
  • Jairo, shadow of the player from last season.
  • Rothwell, very underwhelming and disappeared from the team, doesn’t even come off the bench.
  • Hamza, crap but can’t be subbed.
  • Doherty, disappeared despite having no fit RB.
  • Phillips, looks okay but can only play 45 mins.
  • Jury still out on BBD V3.

We have 5 cm’s but it’s now at a point where I genuinely can’t pick 2 I want to start they’ve all been so underwhelming or can’t last more than 60 minutes.

I’ll ask it again do you think he’s been well supported by the board then?
Do I think he's been given everything he wants by the board? Obviously no.

Do I think he's been given a wage budget which is competitive and could have been used better, 100% yes.

Let's have a rough guess at what these players we've brought in are being paid.

Choudhury has reportedly been taken on his existing contract which if rumours are to be believed is in the region of £50k a week.

Lets say we're paying 10% of Phillips wage that's another £15k a week at least.

Doherty was on a premier league wage last season, let's be conservative and put his at £10k a week.

Riederwald probably on £8-10k a week.

We're probably paying a fair whack of BBD's wage, I'd say £20k a week.

That's nearly £100k a week on absolute dross.

That's where the budget has gone.

I’ll ask it again do you think he’s been well supported by the board then?
Maltby everyone knows he hasn't BUT do you think its been a good use of limited funds bringing in Rothwell, Jairo, Phillips, Chodhury, Doherty, BBD all slow, aging players (4 playing the same position) when its been obvious we needed athletisism and cover in other areas ?
