Clearly, he was recommended by his agent who bigged his client up on reputation, and United being the soft twats that we are, fell for it and went all in blindly. Mainly because they had got themselves into a pickle re the goalkeeping situation by lack of contigency planning. United were very much lacking the '6 Ps' (that were drummed into me when i was a young squaddie). Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance'. Absolutely bizarre isn’t it? Whatever the outlay was I’m sure we could have picked a very good English keeper who was miles better and had a bigger potential upside and knows what the English game is all about
