When we talk about sliding-door moments, today really could be one of them.

If we sell O’Hare and Cannon, don’t reinvest, or simply don’t have the time to bring players in, and we’re probably looking at relegation — especially with the potential 12-point deduction coming our way (and maybe even without it).

Reinvest at least £8 million, bring in two decent wingers and a striker on loan, and we could potentially rebuild into a competitive 4-3-3 that makes effective use of our abundance of half-decent holding midfielders.

Decisions made by the club hierarchy in the next 12 hours could genuinely define the next 5 years.

I don’t think we do and I don’t think we need to.

He is the prime reason we play 4-2-3-1.

So, we get a like for like and try to play the same way, or we simply don’t and adopt a system which better suits.

If you want 4-4-2 then you can do that with what we have or if we also sell Cannon then BBD can play central and perhaps we try to get Cleary rather than a 10.

Or, we play 4-3-3 and we have BBD-Bamford-Donovan and perhaps we need one more option as we have Oné, Campbell and Chong as back ups.

We’ve got enough to support a midfield two or three without much trouble.

It’s sensible business to sell him if we had a plan in place beyond free transfers & loans.

The worry is we’ve sold Hamer, COH, Brooks

And so far replaced with Donovan who’s basically Brooks 3 years ago. BBD unable to play 46 games a season.
