This season so far I've been listening to the radio sheffield commentary while closing my eyes and imagining the action 😉

So far I've noticed apparently every one of our players has a low centre of gravity and a cruyff turn along with many other same catchphrases I can't quite remember at the moment

My main question is did the commentator do this every season or is it new for this season?

Radio commentary is still a thing?! 😦 must be 15 years ago I listened to a game on there!

This is first season they have not bothered with a proper show and commentators. Kevin Gage better than Radio Sheffield, probably not. It's another money saving enterprise not to have proper commentary.

I have seen the Leeds match day shows and it puts our effort to shame.

They do like saying Cruyff turn a lot tho don't they.

Last night just before Donovan scored the winner, Tyrese Campbell had a shot that trickled slowly against the post.

The commentator on radio Sheffield shouted, "AND CAMPBELL HITS THE BAR!".

😅😅
It’s Andy Giddings, he’s a really bad commentator. Adam Oxley and Rob Staton are far better at it (and actually seem to know who our players are for a start).

Andy Giddings as a commentator should be in the 'what winds you up thread'.
He NEVER stops talking for a second. And more often than not it's irrelevant to what's happening on the pitch. He'll go and on about how many matches this player played for his last club. How tall this player is. How many touches so and so had in his last match. Where some player went on holiday. Ad infinitum. All this while play is going on. Boils my piss.

It's a radio feed, they have to talk a lot so sometimes talk bollocks.

The problem is when you're watching a stream with the RS commentary over the top, you don't need all the extra crap.

I try to find the Sky+ feed wherever possible, not always great, but it's a dedicated TV commentary.

The Sky+ feed commentary last night was atrocious.

I don't think I've ever heard Giddings do a commentary where he hasn't said "stutter-step run up".

Every-fucking-game. And he's the only person I've ever really heard say it!

Shite.

I think he’s really good tbh

But he doesn't wear a back-to-front cap, so that's one mini positive!

Strangely I never get a stream with RS commentary, I have had to suffer Brummies, Jacks and dull Blackburn commentators so far, that is if there is any sound at all.

Makes me laugh when I watch back our highlights with Giddings commentating, as the pattern of play is nowhere near what's described in his commentary. Often they'll be a goal or major chance whilst he's mid ramble

A goal against Norwich he's midway talking about the city centre or something Partridge-esque only to interrupt himself with "...And it's been turned in!". Someone more able than me will probably be able to find the clip, it's excellent.
