It’s great seeing the photos of how teams turned out back in the day, all smartly dressed. They always look like they’re all off to to work at Bletchley Park !View attachment 24284523rd Feb 1946 away at Blackpool
His Bertness ??
Right decision by AlfGreaves. Shame that he never played in the World Cup final.
Stan Machent. I know his niece. Used to live in Chesterfield before moving to Nottingham after she got married.Guy on the left, Shorts nearly as big as his shin pads
Years later my dad admitted that in the morning of the Cup Final, he wanted Greaves back in the team. All the newspapers were saying the same.Right, that's you on ignore![]()

Great Blades goal scorer , lovely tash and a great week with all the family for 35 shillings
8 October 1985. Glenn Cockerill in goal for the last 20 mins of our 2nd round 2nd leg league cup tie at Luton. We lost 3-1 and 5-2 on aggregate, Cockerill conceding once. King Keith scored for us.
Cockerill was our best player as soon as we signed him and he remained so until we sold him. Class.
Why has Glenn Cockerill got goalie gloves on? dont hate me, I am a young un - only born in 71!
He was playing in goal?
