Looks like Grbic is off on loan again.

Expect to follow..

Zatterstrom
RND
Ukaki

McGuinness will be kept i guess.
We are borassic so we'll have to keep McGuiness.
Even then we are light at CB and generally short of height in the squad.
So why not keep Zatterstrom ?
Isn't it asking for trouble to let him go ?
We must cut our cloth , but not rip it up.

I think at his age it probably isn’t fair on Zatterstrom to sit there as 4th pick and play no games. His whole career advancement depends on him picking up experience now.

If we are to make something of his signing then sending him out to play matches seems to be the right thing.

Forget Bord, forget AI. The guy has played for Sweden, he’s 6’4”, left footed centre back. There is something there to work with and develop at 21 years of age.

I’d imagine all the following will be playing elsewhere:

Grbic
Zatterstrom
Norrington-Davies*
Curtis
Blacker
Ukaki
Marsh

My only caveat is whether we decide to keep RND around as a player that could cover left back if we lose Burrows or end up having to use him further forward.

We have to become more like Hull City who fashioned a promotion winning side from a very restricted budget........but i think that is even beyond the people used to find and hire players for the Blades.
We don’t cast our net wide enough to build on a budget anymore. The best option available to us is to pick up players released from Cat 1 U18s and develop them (Peck, Lankshear etc…) and use the revenue from the sales of those players to supplement the squad with ex premier league players out of contract (30-34yo) like Bamford and Riedewald.

The only issue with that plan is it relies on on multi year planning over 3-5 year cycles, which is beyond anyone currently at the club.

Ukaki, Marsh and Blacker are no worse than Chong. We should keep them around the first team for development and depth.

Fair enough , if the move is attractive from his pov

Ukaki, Marsh and Blacker are no worse than Chong. We should keep them around the first team for development and depth.

With the weak squad we have now and no resources to bring much in, we should be looking to use Chong on the left where he's actually half-decent, keep Ukaki as right wing back-up unless we get someone else in or he's on ridiculous wages, and keep Marsh as the alternative to O'Hare. Not sure there's any real way Blacker gets minutes, so a loan is best for him.

Curtis and RND would be fine as back-up for the full-backs if necessary but are a bit superfluous as third choices. We need at least four centre backs so Zatterstrom can't go anywhere until we bring someone in, same with McGuinness, even though it's clear Wilder doesn't really want either.

Grbic on Premier League wages is the main one that's absolutely not needed, everyone else could have a part to play (except Shackleton who is equally worthless in numerous positions)

Cards on table.

I simply don’t get this obsession with wingers in the current set up.

Not sure we have the CF players to benefit significantly from it.

What we DO have are, arguably, the 2 best wing backs in the division in Femi & Harrison and I just can’t help but think reverting to playing them BOTH in this position would benefit the team as a whole and negate the requirement for out and out wingers.

Maybe.

Ahem !

Posted elsewhere, but keen for thoughts.

Where do our financial restraints and the need to trim costs come from? Where do our restrictions around being able to spend, and the need to focus on frees/loads come from? Why do we lack any financial or recruitment clout, when you have Norwich, Bristol, Stoke and Boro spending far more?

Now, I know the parachute payments have just ended and that we need to fall in line with SCR. But I don't see where our expenditure could be high, in terms of annual salaries. It's not like we have a squad akin to West Ham's, having failed at several attempts to regain promotion. It's not as though we have stellar performers right across the park. In FPL terms, who are our premium players? Because I just don't see it. Hamer, granted. Brooks would have been, but wasn't here long enough, I can't imagine Peck and Blaster are on a significant amount. Tanganga, Burrows, Cooper? Bamford, O'Hare, Campbell? But even then, they aren't the creme de la creme of the division and other sides (who haven't been in the Prem in recent years) appear capable to carry their wages.

Am I being dim?

This HAS to be the model.

Player suggestion Street at Lincoln was previously on loan at Donny Swap for Cannon
