We offered nowhere near their valuation according to their manager..and I believe him ...rather than wilder..who is just trying to appease the fans.
Fine. Best go and support Russell Martin and the Foxes then.
There’s nowt but lies coming out of Bramall Lane

Wilder - Mark , you got a mo....
MM - Yes gaffer , what you want , thought you'd forgotten my name
Wilder - Stop it you card , no , i just want a quick word
MM - And...
Wilder - Well , remember when i said you weren't in my plans and you could find another club and that i may even use you as a makeweight in an incoming transfer , any incoming transfer , and that i wouldn't have bought you if i`d been in charge at the time , and that you're slow , a bit thick and turn like the Bridlington Bell?
MM - Yes, i remember that , as so does everyone else - my colleagues , my family , the rest of the professional industry , our fan base , everyone else's fan base , SKY, Donald Trump, Kylie Minogue and even Nick Jansky - what of it?
Wilder - I was only kidding you silly sausage . You are , will be and always have been my number 1 Centre Half . You're my culture carrying hero and our punters love you . Now , get changed and show that other imbecile , er , i mean , other culture carrier at the side of you how it's done .
MM - Fk you
Even Nick Jansky 😂😂😂👏👏👏

I know the club is in a bad way right now, but in this small instance... is anyone else just a little bit relieved that the Souttar deal seems to have fallen through?

It started as a bit of a medium-risk gamble that spiralled out of control until the papers were reporting ludicrous fees for a player with his fitness concerns. The thought of overstretching ourselves so much for a signing that a) has looked at times to have lost mobility, and b) could drop again at any moment - it just gives me the screaming abdabs.

There is a universe somewhere where we pay £10m for Souttar and on his first game he does his achilles again, or his cruciate again, and we're left paying huge wages to a huge bloke who doesn't play again for 2 more years and is worth nothing when the 3rd year of his contract expires.

Sad to say but yes, same here. Love Souttar but given the current state I think it'd be foolish to spend so much or rather put all our money into that one contract. Unless of course we do get someone in for Peck & Burrows before the window shuts. Think there are better options for us out there, the rapid change of finances of a post-parachute team.

I'd feel far more confident with Souttar as our main CB
Would you feel confident about being asked to pay 10m for him, losing him for about 6 games due to international commitments and then theough injury you end up getting 25 games out of him.

Would you be confident then?

Where can i see his presser?
£179 from John Lewis. Beautiful creases. Does tracky bottoms as well.

I'm not as confident as you about his guaranteed injury period 😀

Wilder just said the bid is still in for Souttar

And also loans and frees are the remit at the moment 🤷‍♂️🤣
Is that a statement that overworks your brain cell?
We have a bid in for a player the club would very much like to sign but any other players brought in will be frees or loans.- It's really not that difficult

I suggest you listen to what he says. Just because you out a bid in for a house doesn't mean you have to buy the house...

That's a prize-winning post !

I guess there's a risk associated with signing any player that they could get badly injured in their first few games. But the risk would be higher than normal for Souttar given his injury history - which makes Wilder's fixation on him all the more worrying.
Personally I think we should be walking away from this - there must be other CBs available who can do 90% of what Souttar can for considerably less outlay?
