If we do get a points deduction…

Another way to look at is a points deduction proves EFL failed in their duty to vet the owners. I dont think it will happen as it makes the EFL look bad.

This is from Reuters today

LONDON, Aug 19 (Reuters) - Sheffield United's former owner on Wednesday won a bid to wind up the company that in 2024 bought the second-tier Championship side, which said the ‌High Court's decision was not an issue for the club.
United World, led by Prince Abdullah bin Mosaad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, filed a winding-up petition last month against COH Sports Bidco Limited (CSBL) over what it says is a 35 million pound ($47.43 million) debt.
United World Holding Limited's petition to wind up CSBL was granted by a judge at London's High Court on Wednesday after a brief hearing.
A Sheffield United spokesperson said in a statement that "this High Court decision is not a Sheffield United Football Club issue".
United World said in a statement that it had "tried until the morning of the hearing to give the owners a final opportunity to find a solution and spare Sheffield United the consequences of their conduct".
The statement added that "United World will continue to ‌pursue the full sums owed through every legal avenue available".
COH Sports – led by Steven Rosen, founder and chairman of Resilience Capital Partners, and Helmy Eltoukhy, co-founder and chairman of biotech company Guardant Health – bought 100% of the club's parent company Blades Leisure Ltd in 2024 through CSBL.
But, in June, Sheffield United said 1919 Partners LLC was the parent company of the club, a move United World this week said "appears to be an attempt to avoid paying CSBL's creditors".
United World this week said there is "a real prospect" that the English Football League (EFL) may have to impose a 12-point deduction, as the EFL's rules "would be undermined if owners were able to acquire football clubs without paying for them".
The EFL did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

I suppose its now all down to how the EFL reacts.
Yet more fucking off field upheaval.
Why do we end up with dodgy owners ffs???
Its not going to end well.
I did say at the time of the take over be careful what you wish for.

The statement added that "United World will continue to ‌pursue the full sums owed through every legal avenue available".
Good that they clarified legal avenue. Imagine if they had started trying to hold a player for ransom money....

Wilder did say Shackleton had an important role to play this season!

Is there a chance that Prince Abdullah takes the club in full due to the default on payments? If us minions fail to pay our mortgage or loan we lose house/car etc

If this was a possibility, a points deduction surely wouldn't happen, as it would be PA punished again?

Or would that be too straightforward in the murky world of business

Its quite right that WE SUFC get a points deduction
because the 'fit and proper persons' APPROVED by the FA
failed to pay the purchase price as required by the contract

It's clearly All OUR fault
NOT the FA who approved these shysters.

That is the Orwellian world we live in now.

I say again
If you fail to pay as per your contract on a car or house or..
THE OWNERSHIP REVERTS to the previous owners
be they the seller
or the bank who bought it with your mortgage
IT SHOULD NOT BE DIFFICULT!

I don't get the big shock here. The company United World wanted dissolving was already being dissolved & changed to 1919 unless I am currently hard of thinking.

Our owners may be playing a dangerous game but I don't think a points deduction is anywhere close, they will pay at the last minute I believe. Not a good look obviously & I confess I don't like Rosen & Eltoukhy's way of running us & would like us to be sold on, but that doesn't mean we are on the verge of going bust or relegation to division 4 (League 3).

Rather typically Blades fans fortitude collapses like a cheap house of card when they see the headlines.

Calm the fuck down.

For that, you'll need some help.

I wonder what Betts and Blunkett are up to? And where's Louise Haigh when you need her
The EFL are already on it. It has been pointed out that to impose a 12 point deduction for failure to pay United's ex owner is inconsistent with imposing a zero points deduction on Wednesday's ex owner. To make this fair they will now impose the 15 point deduction and add it onto the 12 points so United will receive a 27 point deduction in total. All penalties will have been applied so everything is now fair.

Then every game from now until the end of the season is absolutely vital. We need the support at BL and away from home. We need to sing our hearts out at the matches and make Bramall Lane the intimidating place for the opposition when it first was when I was growing up and understanding football. If there’s anyone that can get us to survive with -12 lumped on us, it’d either be Warnock or Wilder and luckily for us Wilder is our man. Although I’d rather not be in this position in the first place and if there’s a positive to take out of all this, we WILL have something to fight for and that is survival and an accomplishment is there for us to achieve at the end of the season that I believe has not been done by any other team in the championship?
Our administration will be better than the pigs, bet we can get a rest points deduction where they failed to get one.

I'm not yet ready to be us against the world stuff to be honest.

Okay so,

Many people have their different interpretations of positivity and my guess is that you are not a very positive person.

Yes getting behind the blades? Is that not what we are supposed to do as a group of loyal fans? And yes the grounds did empty after the 70th min, but we were in the Premier League with a very weak side. Are we in the premier league right now? No we are not. Do we have a weak side? It’s weaker than last season but not we’re definitely not whipping boys.

How do you know we won’t have a 12 point deduction, Are you a fortune teller? The thread also gives you a massive clue, it’s “IF”. Did you read that part?
Blades fans are what it says on the tin if we get battered at home weekly loads will walk as they usually do , remember shoes off in the car park we werent pl then either
My positivity is irrelevant
The suggested 12 point deduction isnt set in stone wendy got 15 repaid
It might be implemented but they will go to sports court ,that i beleive would be turned over
Does that not make me positive ?

I can see it being reduced on appeal certainly
