 Pros

Cooper, calm when needed, collected crosses and managed to stay awake
Tanganga, a couple of errors that almost let them in but made one excellent block and was pretty solid throughout.
McGuiness, did the basics, did them well and didn't get bullied.
One, showed the difference in 10 minutes on the field what a little directness and application can do.
We didn't lose.

Cons

Bamford, lazy performance, spent all day backing in, pointing at things and didn't break sweat.
Cannon, see Bamford but without the backing in and pointing.
The midfield, we don't have one. Not sure who was doing what as they constantly got played through, were second to every ball and just looked shapeless and clueless.
The manager, for a bloke who operates on pashun he didn't have a clue how to instill some bite into us. His changes are predictable and he mostly just changes personnel, not tactics as it appears he only has a poor plan A.
Fitness, we looked slow of thought and deed. I thought the gaffer said we had a good pre-season, it looked like we need 3 more games to get up to speed.

That was an absolute borefest, if the players couldn't raise their game for that it says a lot about our character. We need leaders, we don't have any and sadly the managers big strength regards togetherness and motivation seems to have deserted him.

One game in, overreaction? Not really, nothing seems to have changed since the shit that was dished up last season.

Also, for Campbell see Bamford and Cannon (but for only half the time of Cannon and slightly less than half the time of Bamford...)

Apparently it’s all Cannon’s fault🤦‍♂️

Cannon had a stinker but he was no worse than Bamford or Rothwell. By his own standards Sydie was appalling, as was O'Hare. After 10 minutes we'd shot our bolt, after 30 minutes he should have been looking to change something, either tactically or personnel wise. Instead we chose to hang on till half time then make a few changes after a while that didn't really make us better.

We looked to have made the defence a lot more solid at the expense of any creativity. Going to be a tough watch if they carries on.

Don’t think we get embarrassed by any time this year but winning games is going to mean nicking a goal somehow.

I would have taken 0-0

It's a decent foundation to start with

We're undercooked, as per usual, and the players who'll make us a more potent attacking force have yet to be signed (I hope)

The defence will also be strengthened

Cooper looked good to me, and so did Rothwell, although I know people have already made up their minds there

Oné showed what a farce it is that Wilder's starting Cannon

The fitness level looked acceptable. There was no serious lull. We were competitive all game

It was a well matched game, possibly the two most closely matched teams in the league as it stands, and two of the most mediocre. We were a good workout for each other. It should be good preparation for the next games
