Something the bear in mind.
Wilder might not be here when One starts to kick on. If we brough Piroe in this Summer he would improve us immediately.

To us, the players, maybe even the owners, losing players like One and Peck is a negative in the long term, but bringing players in like Phillips, Bamford, Piroe etc could save a managers job medium to short term.

How many of us would jeopardise our job, for the benefit for our companies long term goals?

If we sold One this window that would be extremely depressing. He’s promising and had a good record in the league below last season, can’t we show some ambition and belief and give this lad a proper run out. I’d be buzzing to see him in starting 11 on Saturday. Only issue I understand is that Bamford is in his position, but you’d think a young lad will just be happy to play anywhere. If cannon starts and he’s on bench then I’ll be baffled, and wouldn’t blame him if he was knocking on door Sunday asking to leave.

A combination of Cannon and Wilder will bring about the demise of this club.

If he leaves then I must say it's another issue with Wilder.

Once again hyper focused on trying to make it work with Cannon and overlooking others because I am Chris Wilder and I have to justify the stupid fee I paid for him. There were times last season where I thought even Danny Ings deserved a crack ahead of Cannon even if he was only fit enough for half a match.

He is probably watching Cannon and wondering how he isn't getting given a chance.

I'd feel the same in Oné's shoes, but let's be honest, neither of them have looked anywhere near good enough at the moment for where we want to be.

Oné is younger and has the physical attributes so definitely has more potential. On that basis he's the one you keep, but you don't play someone just because they might be good enough in a few years, we can't afford to do that as a club. That's why young players are loaned out.

I thought oné would get more minutes after his goal against Bristol city other season

Don't get why he would be frustrated at not getting game time. The season hasn't even started yet!
If it is the same situation 10 games in and he has only made 2 or 3 sub appearances then maybe.
He is only just 20 years old, just had a loan at league one level (did well). His next development phase is to make some good cameo appearances and force his way into the starting 11 by the end of the year.
Far too early to be wanting away.
But I would also like to see him ahead of Cannon. We currently don't have anyone other striker at the club with the physicality of One and, in some games, that will be important. Cannon would be a better option to bring on late in a game to maybe stretch things - he needs to work on his hold up play though.

Teenage CFs have to be exceptional to start games above L1 on a regular basis. He's a good prospect but United haven't developed CFs well and his stock is high. May be best for both parties to part ways for a decent fee with a big sell on %
So we'd be left with Tom Cannot & Campell! Oh dear 😳

Lots of noise around Madjo last night. We have our own version in One.

It could be a conspiracy and Wilder is hell bent on ruining our promotion chances to protect his ego and Cannons confidence. Sure.

Orrrr….

It might be that he’s actually not good enough at the moment to be starting in a team chasing promotion in the championship? He’s clearly not the finished article and those that think he is are wearing rose coloured specs. We also shouldn’t just play any player because they demand to.

Assuming we are 4231…

He’s not even close in ability to Bamford to lead the line and we are reportedly (and rightly) looking at a left winger on loan - who should be a much better player. So One has a place in the squad, which is exactly where he should be and think he could be an excellent impact sub this year.

If that’s not enough and he genuinely wants to leave, then he’s treated as an asset and we maximise value.

If this is the case I’d be tempted to loan him out, get him playing, increase exposure then sell.

In general we have a fantastic track record of developing, progressing, integrating and naturally selling academy players. Think mostly you have to trust the process and acknowledge it’s not always straightforward.

One could be the next Osula or the next Slew.

Onés concern is easy to resolve.

He got minutes on Sunday. Need to keep doing the same.

This is why I increasingly get annoyed by our club. Instead of playing the likes of Osula and One, we decide we can't take the risk and instead sell them on for a decent but not ridiculous fee despite having potential to be worth more than our entire club.

All while we persevere with players who will never in a million years be worth any more than we paid for them. Totally backwards club.

Your 100% correct and this is why the manager shouldn't be responsible for squad planning. There needs to be some collaboration. I don't believe anyone at the club currently is strong enough to challenge wilder and this is ultimately why our transfer dealings are so poor, which is a criticism of the whole team rather than Wilder - but it does make him a lightening rod for ill sentiment.

Most of our problems are linked to this short term thinking and having to do a complete 'rebuild' every summer.

One just turned 20. He didn't even start regularly for Lincoln on loan in League One last season. He'll presumably be used this season, at least early on, as an impact sub. There's nothing wrong with that. There's no rush. Seriki didn't look like a capable starter until he was about 22.
Yeah the same people calling for One to start are the same type of people who wanted Curtis to come into the side when we were in the premier league and he was still finishing off his last packet of taytos having arrived from Ireland as a kid.

He's 20 now. Appearances like on Sunday to get him experience are what we should be looking at unless we sign a striker where a loan might help
