12 players and we'll still struggleMobileblade, I think what this gives us as well is the chance to have 3 in MF with 2 wingers either side and 2 up top - 3-5-2/3-5-1-2

well hes signed so lets see what happens and get behind the ladHe had a chance last season and wasn’t good enough!
Who fcking knows, a number of weeks, depending on how long it take him to get match fit...ffs some people on here are nutsYou said “weeks”, how many weeks, nurse?
So which non injury prone midfielder, of his calibre, would you have signed instead, to replace Gus?The main issue is he's taking up a squad place and wages which could/should be used on someone that will actually play. Gus was always criticised for his fitness but he played more games last season than Philips has in 3 years. We were supposed to sign Philips weeks ago but he injured his thigh.
If he was the player Man City signed it's a no brainer but he'll be in and out the team all season when we need our strongest 11 out every week. Injury prone midfielders will constantly disrupt that as Wilder will shoehorn him in whenever he can.
I wouldn't have sold Gus.So which non injury prone midfielder, of his calibre, would you have signed instead, to replace Gus?
Do you have a crystal ballSo 10 games max then.
Who else covers that position? Injuries, suspensions, he plays around 10 games next season.
Peck will most likely be going now imoI don't get the need for this signing.
Rothwell
Riedewald
Peck
O'Hare
Arblaster
We don't need a sixth central midfielder.
A waste of money on a desperate last throw of the dice for promotion with no signs of building a squad for next season and beyond regardless of what division we may end up in......which won't be the Premier League.
playing our current formation, we need 3 midfielders in the centre. Usually O'hare+2.I don't get the need for this signing.

Its not that out of the question.Jack Clarkeon what planet would we ever be able to get Jack Clarke. Not only is he actually going to be a member of a premier league squad this season, there would be a Q of suitors with a lot more money than us who would welcome one of the best championship players.

O'Hare is a bit lightweight for a centre mid to be classed as one imoI don't get the need for this signing.

He’s right in our precarious financial position we are using raised/ available funds on paying players with no future asset value to the clubI did acknowledge he’s a risk and we’ll need to defy the odds, by which I meant getting him consistently fit, available and in form.
In terms of being a match winner, he’s clearly not Hamer’s replacement, he’s a different player for a different role. Peck isn’t a match winner by that definition either for example.
We also have no idea how expensive he is. What other choices do we have? Splash the cash?
You mean the Blaster we saw in 8 out of 12 games in the championship when he had Souza next to him dictating games - he was rubbish in the other 4- I do think the hype about him is a little fantasy Islandplaying our current formation, we need 3 midfielders in the centre. Usually O'hare+2.
I can see us having 2 spaces on the bench for these, which means 5 players per match are getting some game time.
A fully fit Blaster, I think easily makes a case to be playing. the Blaster we saw last season... I think struggles for game time this season.
Either that, or as per other people, might be in preparation that Peck leaves before the end of the transfer window...
Quality of this signing is not in doubt, I just hope for everyones sake he gets to boss the league, and not clutter up the injury table.
Can't wait to see him play, I really enjoyed seeing his quality in those 45 minutes we saw of him.
Yes, I'm boring. I'm also a donut. I was only thinking the other day as I recorded my radio show and put together a few more ideas for my third and fourth books based on the scrapes I've got into whilst being boring and a donut that what I really need to do is get a life.Ill do it in braille for you next time fecking donut or what think you need a life carol vorderman quite a boring individual arent you bet you are the life and soul of a fecking wake
We know he won't play much, also one or two of those 6 will be sold.Do you have a crystal ball?

As it happens I am currently signed off work long-term sick, not that this is likely to cause even a flicker of remorse in your barely-ticking head, but you keep right on the way you are with your abuse.
I was right. No sense, no feeling.
Which why he was brought in.We know he won't play much, also one or two of those 6 will be sold.
I said it would take weeks to get match fit. It would for any player who hasnt played matches regularly. How many depends on the player's fitness. Why are you so upset about someone simply stating common knowledge? Grow up manIt”ll take weeks, but you’ve no idea how many, thought you must be a fucking expert…
…..but you’re not
