Our loans have been getting worse and worse recently - which is depressing as we hit a good streak of quality loans whilst we was on the up as a club.... not sure whats happened, the loans seem to have got worse the worse we have got.

You are right it was a short term contract for Riedawald. As foe the loans, I have no faith in our decision makers when it comes to scouting loans and buying players. Though I do expect Donovan to be good which is down to the Andrews and Lester relationship with Wilder.

The problem with our acadamy players is that we don't have a clear plan. Arblaster got his chance when we were short a CM to play with Vinni. When Arblaster got injured Peck got a run. Seriki and Brooks were around the first team for years before playing regularly.

As a club we are not confident about our acadamy players. Too many of them are 20, 21, 22 before they get a real chance. My point is that we stifle their development. Osula has come on leaps and bounds at Newcastle. So while we are a selling club we should be maximising our oppportunities.

What I mean by that is having more u21s in the squad and stop signing, the likes of Rothwell, Chong, Cannon, McGuinness, Shackleton on permanent deals and bring in less loan players. If that is Donovan and Philips then that is enough. One being z potential game changer and one being a CM in the Vinni mould.

Our loanees over the last few years have been a mixed bag. Barry, Clarke, Hjelder, Thomas, etc. MGW, Bindon, Jairo fine all good. I would rather get a few quality Loanees mixed in with acadamy players rather than having squad fillers who are only blocking talent developing and stealing a wage.

As for players we loan out we should be aiming for 1 season loan per player. If they haven't learnt enough or developed enough in that year, we get rid. Baptise surely has to get game time. If Curtis goes on loan this year that will be 3 seasons in a row. He will develop some bit yes but we already have 2 years away from the club the team and the coaches. If we have him in the squad this season he is going to be playing catch up on tactics and connection with team mates.
He was signed due to Keith Andrews. At 19 he had 65 appearances for St Patricks Athletic in the Premier division in Ireland. I hope that he gets an opportunity with us to fullfil his potential. Wilder doesn't do development unless his hand is forced.

He looks promising but as everyone else says very raw..... we need the quality loans such as the hendersosn, MGWs, Mcatees & the soutters etc, we need the board to help wilder our not throw him under bus and wilder to pull some magic rabbits out in loan market.

Totally agree - our biggest asset is our Academy and don’t think we use it enough. Proof will be in pudding anyway now we on a shoestring budget - would like to think we will see a few more academy products making it onto bench and pitch this year.

We have a manager a very experienced one as well with a team of coaches! If they don't know when the right time to blood young players is ! They shouldn't be in the job ! Are you a qualified coach or something and do you watch the development squads! If so then you may have a valid opinion.Its great to bring our young players through and we have some good ones ! But are they ready?.

As far as I know ,
the only one we've removed apart from last season's loans and the ones we've recently sent on loan ,
is Brooks !

That second paragraph is a stretch when you think of Lundstram, Brewster and Cannon. Also Rob Holding. Sometimes Wilder’s pig headedness overrides any club or team benefit. Also see the many weeks when he drops scorers from the previous week to show us ‘play station managers’

The ‘energy sappers’ Wilder was referring to were the ones who knew they wouldn’t be here this season. Therefore I’m guessing the likes of Mee, Ings, Soumare, Ogbene etc.

I don't believe a word of what Wilder waffles on about, it is all about making himself look good. Full of most of the time. Why do our academy product never get into the first team until they are 20-21 year old we should be drip feeding them in at 18 like other clubs do. Ryan Oné will be ruined if he stays here Wilder won't use him unless there is no other option, no doubt he will persist with the donkey that is Tom Cannon.

Yes the original post was excellent. We have one of the best academies in the UK based on players good enough to play Premier League or Championship level & yet we waste all that hard work when it comes to 1st team opportunities.

Some players develop later than others. Some players aren't good enough to play in the Championship at any point.

We are fans who pay good money to support the team at games. We are entitled to our opinions. Wilder is a successful manager and not infallable. He gets it wrong sometimes too. Brewster, Cannon, Rothwell, Chong, etc.

Not having a coaching badge does not disqualify a person having an opinion on what they see with their own eyes. Our coaching staff should be accountable too. in particular when it comes to defending.last season where our back four lacked any kind of defensive organisation.

I have coached in 3 different sports. Funny enough its the 1 that I didn't have any badge for that won the most trophies.
