Exactly why we would be happy to see him back. Always gave 100% and a firm favourite of ours. We were.in control of the playoff final until he got injured. His fee paid for nearly half our present squad.

Totally agree, but people say sell him now.
We could sell him now if we give him away we are trying to negotiate a decent fee and that takes time.
For all we know Coventry have offered £2m and we are weighing up whether we accept or sit tight in the hope they increase their offer

Fee ain't agreed yet but he goes for nowt next summer which is why it's not at least what we paid you.

We ain't been to Bolton away for a few years, you haven't been to most PL clubs away for 25 years.

It's going to be great being in the Prem for the first time in 25 years. But are we going to enjoy it?

I either want us to be a mid table side most of the time or I wouldn’t be unhappy to be back in the Championship. Before we got relegated from the Prem we were the 4th longest serving club in the top flight. Liverpool were there just a couple of years longer. But it was a relegation battle most seasons which wasn't fun. Had some great times on our way back from L2.
 
Arguably Gus has peaked with us and we had the best of him. If he doesn't want to stay and we get a get a few bob for him then he can go with our thanks.

Think the bulk of supporters, the owners and the management team are all in agreement it’s just a case of negotiating the best price or possibly even swapping him for one of their players in a similar position

That's very true, downside to football journalism is there is never any meat on the bones to what has happened. Say it was £2mill, plus circa £30,000 a week off the wage budget (again rumoured) it depends on if we have the go ahead from the board to spend that by bringing in a CB. There are still plenty of freebies to be picked up and with getting rid of Nwachukwu, that frees up a spot for someone slightly different in the market. plus that region of cash could do us well if it was invested right (big if), there were mentions of lets have a punt on Abdul Abdulmalik from Boreham Wood, that could be something I could get behind too.

It will be interesting where he plays for you.

Wilder still found a position where he got more goals and assist combined than he did at Coventry and in fewer matches.

He scored 18 goals and 25 assists in the league for us (inc PL) and 17 goals and 25 assists (Champ only) for Cov.

In fact he contributed a Goal or assist every 194 mins for us overall and 174 mins if you look at just the Championship whereas it was 229 mins with Coventry.

He’s done well for us. Better than he did with his prior club. It will be interesting if he is as effective second time around in the top flight.

As in the premiership season 23/24? Anel Ahmedhodžić? Vinícius Souza? If we didn't have Hamer, we would have been a laughingstock and finished bottom rivaling derby for their points total

I’m not sure what being unfit has got to do with being aggressive…but the reason he gets booked isn’t because he’s aggressive, it’s because he’s unfit and undisciplined. He gives away lazy, cynical fouls because he’s not fit enough to track back after he’s lost the ball.

Getting loans is standard procedure for a Championship club, I’d personally rather get a quality loan from a Premier league club than gamble with permanents that ultimately don’t work out. Look at all the deadwood we’re stuck with at the moment.

I’ve posted our league record from last season from when Hamer started and when he didn’t. TLDR version - we had a better win/loss ratio when he didn’t start. If stats are anything to go by, we’ll be better off without him…and have more money to utilise in fees/wages for players who want to be here.

I think a lot of managers are getting fed up with player power to be honest, contracts have become a circus whereby having 2 years left on a contract has become precarious. He’s trying to get a squad ready and is still in the dark on whether or not he’ll have a centre half other than Tanganga or if his best player will still be around.

I think agents are just outright telling players to run their contracts down now regardless. They know either the current club will comeback with a daft new contract offer or be forced to sell.

Agents are like estate agents and only make real money when a player makes a move
