Good point that. I live in the States and for a day out I went to Pendleton, Oregon as its a rodeo town with a bit of history. First stop was Hamleys Store and Steakhouse, a great building with lots of history and well worth a visit. Oddly enough, in the first display was a knife that stood proudly stamped 'Made in Sheffield'. Over a hundred years old and as good as the day it was made. I had a chat with the assistant and they were pretty knowledgeable about the history of knives and steel from Sheffield. We're known world wide and still respected for our history and what we've contributed.

Turn the tables and what does Coventry have to be proud of? A fictitious bird who rode through the town with her tits and fanny out, being a place where you're sent when you're a cunt and no one likes you and that's it. Sorry, I looked for a bit more but no, you're nothing more than the stuff the rest of us scrape off our shoe.
To be fair you’ve missed out The Specials, you must remember their biggest hit Ghost Town, a song about how shit Coventry is.

Queen Elizabeth II wasn’t even on the throne last time your outfit won a major trophy, not that I think we are a particularly big club but there is no way on earth SU are gatekeeping who is and isn’t a bigger club, fact of the matter is ask anyone who is alive and they have seen CCFC win more major trophies and spend a similar amount of years in the top flight than yourselves in their time watching football

May I ask who was it who was manufacturing a rivalry between the two sides when you relentlessly mocked us at our lowest ebb? All because some poxy tennis balls were thrown onto the pitch in a game you won in a season you got promoted anyway🤣 Some of us have long old memories and are petty enough to hold a grudge and now the tables have turned you cannot stomach it

Face it, the days where clubs like Sheffield United can look down their grubby noses at Coventry City are long gone, you have a crap overpaid ageing squad, who is about to lose one of the only nuggets of quality it has to us, crap American owners and footballs biggest prized prat in the dugout

We may and probably will come back down this season but in no way shape or form would I swap being us for you, I hope you have some proper doldrums years with even half of what we had to put up with
Seriously, why have you come on here? It’s hardly a revelation that you wouldn’t want to swap, I presume you wouldn’t want to be a Man City fan either. You have had one good season and got promoted, well done, enjoy it while it lasts, but do it elsewhere. You aren’t adding anything at all, other than convoluted ways of “proving” Coventry are the bigger club, despite having won less than we have historically.
By the way, NOBODY ever thinks of Coventry when they think about clubs winning things, please don’t fool yourself. Your FA cup win is just an obscure answer to a quiz question about clubs who have won the cup. Not as old as ours, true, but at least you have 4 chances of picking a year we won it.

Lady Godiva's tits, The Specials and even Daimler couldn't make up for this helmet :

Ipswich fans should be buzzing about being back in the top flight again but they're not. I understand Coventry fans being excited because it's been so long but they'll feel the same by the end of the season. All the promoted clubs are purely hoping for is that one of the established clubs have a shit the bed season like Wolves did.

Forest and Sunderland staying up was the worst thing to happen to be honest because it made lazy pundits say "see, you can compete" whilst completely not acknowledging that both clubs would have been in dire straights had it not worked out.
My Sunderland mates are dreading this season, their only solace is the fact that the Mags will struggle too.

One thing Sunderland did cleverly was identify all their transfer targets before promotion. Within hours of winning at Wembley the loan against PL TV money was completed and signings followed. Players were in the building before pre-season. They hit the ground running. I'm surprised other clubs haven't done this.

It’s like we stole their baby or something and now they might be getting him back. He’s just a good championship footballer and not fit enough for the PL. If they get him back, he’s just a bit fatter!! Love Gus but, if his time is up, move on and thanks for the memories 👍

The three promoted teams look exceptionally weak this year, I really can't see any of them staying up. Ipswich have made the best signings but losing McKenna was a huge blow.

Coventry have been poor since about November and haven't exactly signed anyone that their fans could get excited about. Hamer is not good enough for the Prem and is not going to keep them up. Going to be a long, hard season for them I'm afraid - I imagine the initial excitement of being back in the big time will have worn off by about October.

You are a similar sized club to us but don't get talking about major trophies....
You've won 1 fa cup ever. That's also not alot to brag about.

When you say we tried to make a rivalry "at your lowest ebb". Because of the protest with tennis balls.
Let's not forget here the intention was to disrupt the game that much and even get the game called off. I don't think any of the attending fans had a problem before this moment but as a guess afterwards we're probably annoyed at the potential the game was going to be abandoned.
We just wanted 3 PTS.

I don't know how you will do. My gut is saying all 3 promoted don't look like staying up but if I had to pick one it would be Ipswich.

We may have now lost our parachute payments but it remains to be seen how our squad will be come the window shuts. But it was actually one of the younger squads in the league so it's not ageing.

Enjoy your season and don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Christ. What a load of waffle.

Coventry are a largely irrelevant club.
We are a largely irrelevant club.

We’ve had some good times in the last 10 years and largely that cycle looks to be ending, Coventry have had some bleak times - now they’ve got their day in the sun. Good luck to them. There’ll be some arrogant optimists who’ll genuinely believe this is Coventrys new dawn and will become an established PL club, but many of us will have thought the same in that first PL season.

5 years from now we will both be Championship clubs fighting tooth and nail for the bittersweet riches of PL football.

The notion of a “bigger club debate” is just dreadful. The overwhelming majority of lower league fans support there clubs based on geography, nothing more nothing less.

Literally no one in existence would choose to support either Us or Coventry based how big we are (or aren’t)

I've got a good idea.

Coventry get Hamer, in exchange for about 5 cast offs they don't need, which will immeasurably improve our squad, whoever they are.

Weird people with nothing better to do. All this talk about ‘lowest ebb’ is bollocks because it’s not like our fans were inundating their forums and whatnot back when their “big protest” was only happening whilst we were in possession.
