But that's, what? Once out of twenty odd seasons?

So once out of nearly 70 promoted teams.

You’re right…. It is the ‘Blades away’. But what’s crazy is that we were even this slow in getting deals done even when we did have a bit of money!!! Something badly wrong somewhere within our recruitment process.

I'm curly-tailed, and I'd say it's because United have always sold their best players.

Wednesday never produced any to sell, which is why they didn't, but it led to a belief that they were higher up the food chain.

I had the same rule of thumb approach with a girl called Denise Cathcart in the second year at Aston Comp . I kept asking her to go out with me until she said yes .

In the second year she was a stunner , by the time she said yes , in the fifth year, she was a real gable end munter

I was (and still am) needless to say , desperate for anything resembling a female , and was overjoyed when she said yes .

I took her to Sheffield Tigers Speedway and we were together for nearly two weeks . She packed me because I couldn’t control my body odour very well . Fair enough tbh , I couldn’t argue with that .

I still asked her out but she eventually left school and we lost contact . She became a tyre fitting technician at Kwick Fit for a while .

Hope she’s still ok

Come to think of it, wonder if she fancies a night out ?

That was a clever move taking her to Tigers dirt-biking !
No way is she gonna detect a bit of BO after inhaling all that dirt & hot 2-stroke oil 😉
And anyway , it's really just musk ...
A form of animal magnetism , so I don't buy her excuse.
But now that you're out of puberty and have the occasional shower ,
I would definitely give her a call ,
After all , as it said on telly ,
"You can't get better than a Kwik-Fit fitter !"
And her sense of smell will have been destroyed by tyres & exhausts.
Tell her you know an equally desperate bloke and ask if she's got a pal

I genuinely think that Bettis believes the best way to do business is at the end of the window. But that is such an antiquated way of doing things.
Just look at last summer. 14 brought in, 11 brought in from the last week of August onwards. How on earth were players meant to gel together. Its crazy.
I think, this summer the board were expecting more to depart, however, that is also an antiquated way of operating. You could get the players you want in, and gauge if you have enough interest in our own players to bring the money in. The way deals are structured these days doesn't mean the funds are required now. As long as our accounting period tallies up.

See, the flaw in your reasoning is your assumption that Bell4 is out of puberty. You were doing well until that. And even the heady aroma of speedway pits, tyres and exhausts can’t cut through the odour of someone with a very questionable and ill advised diet following through.
