I’m probably pro Wilder.

I’d say part of that is that I’m anti-change for change’s sake and the upheaval that comes with it. i.e. Large turnover of players, increased agent fees, player and manager pay offs etc all creates a lot of financial waste.

So I’d prefer we stick and build on a solid foundation. When you watch Benjamin Bloom’s channel for a while it’s clear that managerial stability plays a bit part in success. If it were down to me Hecky would probably still be with us; I’d have ridden out the poor PL season to be honest. Bloke was on a hiding to nothing once we went up.

That being said, I’m not adverse to criticising the manager when he does things I disagree with. In this case though, bobbing out a player we should never have signed gives me hope that he is prepared to make the hard decisions rather than just go with the flow.

Hard bit will be getting takers anywhere near the level we paid. Ironically, if they perhaps adjusted their thinking to the level they are at, he’d probably be a very reasonable signing for Leicester to get out of that league.

There are others but if McG is still here, that will be a major disappointment and will illustrate the board have zero intent or interest in progression

McGuinness has limitations. Mostly they show up on us being countered. He has a tendency to go out under the ball from a long punt. That misjudgement really highlights his deficencies. Chris must have some reason to feel confident of getting a few decent CBs in. I thought that McGuinness could be kept as backup.

The pairing of anyone with Tanganga didn't really work out. That's because they weren't on the same page.Though you can also criticise Wilder's tactics. Fullbacks encouraged to get high and wide and insufficient cover when things breakdown. I don't think any of the back 4 players were happy with last season. And I believe Tanganga and McGuinness felt that they were left too exposed.

Mark is a really nice bloke and i wish him well if he goes. In my book he put in more effort than Chong and Rothwell and unfortunately it looks like we are keeping them.

If MM stays, I’m confident he’ll have a better season. There’s much more structure and certainty in place now than in the environment he walked into.

That’s not to say I particularly rate him, but if he stays as backup I won’t be burning my season ticket.

True, in an ideal world Cardiff or someone give us some sort of fee likely less than we paid and take him.

Hopefully we get a replacement in quickly and it isn’t like that season where Clough didn’t fancy Collins or Butler and started the season with McEveley and Alcock at centre half against Bristol City.

For what it’s worth I think that whilst McGuinness has obvious limitations he wasn’t helped by being asked to defend so high up last season when he clearly didn’t have the pace to do so.

Ideally the Souttar deal will come off and we won’t start the season with Tanganga, an unproven Baptiste and a player that Wilder has publicly said he doesn’t want.

I don’t think McGuiness will leave until a CB is signed, whether that be Souttar or someone else. He will leave and if not a sale then a loan to save his salary

He’s effing bobbar. We could see that before he arrived (I thought it was great when he was named in the Cardiff or Pogs side to play us) and we’ve witnessed how useless he is on the flesh. Utter garbage. Get rid.
