It's a shame he couldn't stay fit for the second half of the season as he was the difference maker.

I fully expect us to get Big Harry in before the window shuts.
I'm not ITK, just my opinion.
He will be top of Wilder's wish list - he would be huge for us, and getting him would set the tone for the season ahead.
If he can convince the board to splash big money on Cannon he must be extremely persuasive!
We also seem to be his preferred destination.
Having seemingly given up on Kalvin, and with Walker's apparent disinterest in joining us, I reckon we'll use the money earmarked for those two to fund the arrival of HS.
CW's already said our squad is too bloated, so expect an exedus of fringe players (probably on loan, since no clubs in their right mind would take on the salaries of McGuiness, for example).
Cooper, Seriki, Big Harry, Tanganga and McCallum is easily a top six backline.

We then sell Peck for a decent fee and have Riedewald and Choudhury as more defensive options and we have more forward looking options in Arblaster and Rothwell. We then use Cannon’s absence to bring on Oné, knowing we still have Campbell.

If West Ham have genuine interest on Burrows, I'd sell to fund Souttar. Burrows is unlikely to be first choice and there aren't many realistic alternatives to Souttar.

There’s almost zero chance it happens, but it would be great if COH show some ambition and back Wilder with this signing. It’s obvious most fans aren’t happy with the way the club is run currently, and it would give us all some much needed optimism for the new season.

i think weve got saleable assets to enable us to get souttar and a big physical centre back has to be our number 1 priority in this window and if were sticking with a back 4 i think we can allow burrows to go to west ham

You could lose Cannon or Burrows or Peck and still have a similarly effective team.

You stick Souttar in there instead of say McGuinness and it’s a completely different quality proposition.

Whilst I agree with the sentiment there's nothing the owners can do. We're hamstrung by the new Squad Cost Rules until we make some sizeable sales.

I also think there's a chance we will get him and will be a brilliant signing. My one concern is the cost now against before the World Cup. Before the tournament he would have been a very reasonable £ now i hope we aren't putting all of our eggs in one very expensive basket with a history of breaking, that said would be a great signing.

I'd only want him on a loan to buy deal.

You would be spending a lot of money banking on his fitness.

All very sensible suggestions. Unfortunately that requires the recruitment team to be innovative and pro active. They have shown precious little of that in recent times. A swap would be more realistic but depends on Martin and whether he is attracted to Cannon. Leicester are in financial trouble and may prefer a straight cash deal. For the money they are asking it is a huge gamble on a player who has a poor injury record and will continue to risk further injury with long haul flights to Australia.

I dont see anyone other than the likes of a Saudi club stumping up £10 million.

What if we put less than half of the allowable input ? I would go with that as long as the rest is also spent in this window or the next.
