Have we ever before been at the bottom of the local pile? Wendy, Rotherham Barnsley, Doncaster, Chesterfield all sit above us.
Would any other major city team be happy with this.
It's disgraceful really.
Yet we are so worn out with underachievement, we hardly have the strength to complain.

We have played 2 games. We will finish above Donny Barnsley and Chesterfield

Sarcasm will get you nowhere on here.

The interwebz was so much better when it was expensive
Pierre , that yoke is buggin the bollox out of me ,
every fucking time I read one of your posts , [ which are thoughtful , witty , and provocative ]
and all in the one post as well mind . ;)
That thing starts meandering across the screen , Ithought it was something on my I-pad last week , and tried brushing it off ,

I would suggest that if it bugs (fnar fnar) you every time that you write a sticky note to remind you it's not really a insect on your screen ;)

Couldn't you turn it into a little Nick Montgomery running round in circles? It would be much more appropriate. ;)

When you've made as many posts as Darren and Walthy, then - and only then - can you come on this forum and make such heinous comments. :)

It would take me 30 years to hit such numbers and by then either we would all be communicating telepathically or I will be banned. My bets are on the latter.

Also, I wasn't thinking of those particular members when I posted ;)

Hardly over achieved either.

Spending most of our time in the Championship.

The only good thing about being in League One is that the disparity between our number of seasons in the top two divisions stays the same.

On that note, I've been a season ticket holder for 21 years and in that time we've spent double the time in the third tier than we have in the first. 'Big club' indeed.

Bloody hell - you are right - since 1976

seasons in top tier: 5
seasons in bottom 2 tiers 10 :-(

Bit of an eye opener isn't it?

Indeed:

39 seasons since 1976:

1st tier 5
2nd tier 24
3rd tier 9
4th tier 1

39 seasons prior to that

1st tier 22
2nd tier 17

and 34 seasons prior to that

1st tier 33
2nd tier 1

Our history really bolis down into 3 thirds

1 first third: permanent decent top tier team and always in with a chance of a trophy
2 second third: yo-yo team between first and second tier - never likely to win anything
3. third third more or less mediocre second tier team with occasional forays above and below that

It's a long term decline :-(

Yes but this is the worst time in our history relative to other Yorkshire teams. Only York lie below us. In 1981-82 there was Bradford, Hull, York and Halifax in Division 4. and we did finish top!

Am just curious to see fans reactions when we open the 2017-18 season in the Vanorama premiership home to Braintree and they bring 43 fans.
