I know this thread is about questions for Wilder, but is the issue really about Wilder or should it be about the direction of the club?
I think if we just focus on Wilder, it doesn’t really address the issue. Whether or not he’s the right man to lead us forward is clearly subjective, and I have my own views on that.
In the current set up it’s mainly all on him, his finger prints and influence are expected/needed to be across the whole operation (team management, players, liaising with the board, recruitment, etc), which in today’s game seems too much and outdated.
He may prefer to have overall control but this is a risk and something the owners need to step up and take hold of - bringing in relevant (and competent) support. Someone who can take some pressure off and advise him. Also, give us some continuity if we do change manager, rather than a big bang effect of change.
In my opinion, the discussion for and against a DOF is difficult one to compare to other clubs because we’re not all set up the same.
I think it would be quite an ask for someone to come in and replace him in a like for like set up and be successful. For me, the bigger issue is the direction and structure of the club, and whilst Wilder is a factor, it’s much broader than just him.
Just blaming him and looking at his failings doesn’t show the whole picture. I also think it’s become decisive and binary point.
