4 years at Rangers played 70 games riddled with injuries CV fits
Very true feels like every window we have to have a signing for the physio room rather than the first team.

In that case I could accept it being Matondo if the wages are very very reasonable. Better than some of the previous signings for that role on large wages and long contracts

It's United. It'll be another 3 year deal with no outs

Yeah not sure why we never push for deals where we have the option to extend. 2 years + 1 or 1 year + 1

Most deals we do seem weighted in favour of the player who's barely played much football for their previous club due to injury.

I know we're being facetious, he'll get a year contract with an option, at best.

He might be Benie Traore 2.0. Can't risk that. Better get someone in in his thirties on triple the wages, it's safer
Is there not a mid ground of developing a squad with both? Or is this one of those one camp or the other points?

I think a few people on here have to understand that the dynamics of who we can bring in for healthy transfer fees have now changed. They say they know this, bang on about how we are royally fucked financially, and then moan like fuck and reach for the razor blades, just cos United are taking a still relatively youngish lad on trial for a week. He might well turn out to be dog shit. Or... he might actually turn out to be half decent and we might be falling lucky on a player who just hasnt had the breaks in the last couple of years. We are taking a look at him. Thats all. If he has something, impresses, then there might be a deal to be had, but i rather fancy any such deal will be heavily stacked in the clubs favour. Probably come to nowt, but worth a look (he used to be a pretty good, if inconsistent player for Rangers who provided plenty of pace), and i see no harm in looking. We have to box clever with our finances now and there will be one or two cheap punts. The luxury days for transfer fees have gone (the clubs own fault you could say).

Oh, i remember some on here shrieking about David McGoldrick being a waste of time on trial. Some of us (err me actually) said if he can stay fit he could be diamond. Very silky. The usual moaners poo poo'd that idea. He wasnt bad.😉

Anyway, i want us to sign the lad as he will be the first United player to have the name Rabbi since Rabbi Howell (a gypsy by birth) who played for us when we won the old 1st division championship to be crowned champions of England. He also played for England whilst a Blade. If the new Rabbi can be even a quarter successful as RH then we will have a player on our hands.

It’s the hope that kills us,certainly over the last few anyway. Those few signings were years ago,but repeat performances have not happened and that is now where we are. Blame Selles, every other lame brain does.

I think its fair to say its been a total clusterfuck in how not to run a football club since those heady days of getting promotion to the PL flr the first time under Wilder. Everyone involved in running the football side from boardroom to management need to shoulder the blame for the millions we have totally squandered. You look back at some of the decisions and think 'what the fuck were they thinking...'. Last summer just being the cherry on the proverbial shit cake. Anywat, whats done is done. Trying to look forward now and lets hope we are going to work much better on a very limited budget. Give United a healthy budget and we are like those chavs who win big on the lottery and then are totally skint just 5 years later as they have spunked it all away on total shite and bad investments that a primary school kid could see was a bad idea. We truly are that thick as shit chav with the gangster fake gold chains hanging off our neck on lottery winning day...

I can’t argue with that at all,we are a mess and in a mess. I really hope we turn beans into gold again, but here’s hoping. The Owners are rabbits in the headlights and Wilder lost his magic years ago. Wasted parachute payments on dross loans and signings,we are now a shadow of ourselves from the years ago where we had respect in the premiership.

Plagiarism is a crime...

I won’t stand for this Traore slander. That lad would would have torn up the EFL with his pace and technical ability.

Just a shame he was 5’3” playing in the land of the giants that is the premier league.

Id have liked to seehim have a chance in the championship. But Chris didnt fancy him

The season before last Chris Wilder's team gained 90+ points.
Last season he took over with us winless in 10, statistically we were going down.
You may not like him for some reason but don't talk tripe.

I don’t care about 90 points, blah, blah,it was failure on both seasons and here we are. Can you tell me honestly that you are happy with the standard of football ? His signings, his loans ? If so you are easily pleased. How many times did we get beaten under his tenure last season ? You are a clapper and will not see further than your Wilder tinted specs.

This feels like another "Look, I can fix him like no one else could" Ravel Morrison/Jack Rodwell ego signing, much like Kalvin Phillips.

I'd be more excited about the prospect if players actually improved under Wilder, but they don't. Results improve but players rarely push on and develop as he's more interested in forcing them to play to his system rather than changing his system to play to their strengths, hence why ex-players often do better after they leave us. i.e. Brewster, McBurnie, Moore.

I wouldn't say any of that list have done better because of not playing for Wilder. Firstly Brewster continues to be injury prone and pretty average.

Mcburnie did well at Hull but that's to be expected as he's a very good championship striker like he was with us. He's also more mature now. He scored about 2 goals in la Liga before

Moore started well but ultimately faded for Wrexham and ended up in 11 goals in 39 which is hardly prolific and he was on the bench for the last couple of months I recall.

'I dont care about 90 points' - you have outed yersen an an absolute quilt - I would give both of my misfiring testicles to get 75% of that total next year!
I didnt actually offer an opinion on CW, I just typed two sentences that are objectivley true.
You can have the opinion that CW is an good 2nd tier manager and also be critical of some performances and signings without being labelled 'easily pleased'
You seem to have erased the Selles reign from your memory as two of CW's signings probably kept us up, of the recent ones only Cannon makes me lose sleep.
In the Glory Days of yore Death Eaters such as yourself had three options to spread misery:
1. Moan to your friend in the pub.
2. Ring up Bob Jackson in his half hour slot.
3. Write a letter to the Green-un.
Yet as yiou rightly stated - here we are.

They were big money signings.
Players with fitness or ability to prove get less.
Didnt one of Jairo or Bamford get 6months?
They did, but they had other options. There was zero need to give 3+ year deals to anyone except Cannon. I'll believe the lesson is learned when it's proven

Nope. Its generally an ethical transgression, but not regarded as fraud.
Think it depends on the intent and what “harm” results from it as to whether it tips it over the edge into criminally prosecutable. But per se not on statute book as a crime. I’ve always wanted to make Lying a Crime but only for politicians. Lying to the wife about how many pints you’ve had is absolutely exempt.
