What I really loved, and it surprised me, was that there wasn’t a single player you’d pick out and say he had a bad game. Everyone stepped up when in all the previous games we’ve had some questionable performances by individuals and the team.
Last night every player did their job. Even with adversity, they performed and showed no signs of pressure.
Quansahs red was just a bit reckless rather than a player losing his head and flying in. So even if we’d lost I don’t think any blame could’ve gone on him.
The big issue is who do you pick from all that for MoM. Gordon was exceptional second half when we could use him as an outlet. Saka showed some class first half. Rice and Anderson just did their job and the back four were solid. Pickford was on top of his game, again after a very questionable game against Congo.
Kane put in the captains performance and was selfless as well on the second goal.
But I think it had to be Bellingham. Two goals, but his display when under pressure from Mexican players, perhaps 2-3 around him swarming him when he got the ball, he was unplayable at times. His running never stopped
