Who will be first signing?

I hope we're signing some players from this world cup and that is why there is no activity. The "it's complicated" excuse and "these things take time" excuses are b.s. We've had months to figure out the targets, time to discuss with players, agents etc. I'm not overly concerned we haven't signed any body yet or lost the big names yet. But I just we'll be in the same position come pre season games , maybe if days before opening day. Not confident corned, not confident either. Rant done. Sorry..
 
We have a lot of work to do, but not much by way of finances to do it. For that reason, planning needed to be done way in advance, to get shrewd signings in. Hope we've done our homework.

The board really need to show their intent or I fear we could drop down the leagues.

They obviously have some sort of issue with the coaching set up hence the meddling 🧐 but what they are trying to achieve remains a mystery as they never communicate it.

CW will do his usual old pals act and keep hold of the under performers who either aren’t fit out of form or both.

We have actually weakened the team at present letting Jairo go and not having Phillips on board immediately

We’ve backed ourselves in to a corner with CW we have to stick with him but take what he says with a pinch of salt as he’s a yes man now

Maybe they communicate with the people who need to know i.e. the management team?

My wife took a picture for said person and his other half after they walked out of the hotel this lunchtime and the gf or wife started taking pictures of him in front of the South Stand.

How many more times we’re 40 million worse off this year - have to sell before we do anything - and even then it will be free transfers (good) and loans later (not ideal but needs must)

Just because we have no parachute money doesn’t mean that we are financially worse off to that extent. It depends on what other sources of income will arise.

What income will arise apart from selling players? Sponsorship will be same or less - season tickets same or less..
40 million quid black hole to fill in the accounts - these owners aren’t giving us anything and with the rules it wouldn’t matter if they did

Question I have for you, is how are clubs who are significantly smaller than us, still able to pay fees? Im sure we can still pay fees.

Sounds exactly like the sort of player we should be signing, but sounds nothing like the sort of player Wilder loves.

Judging by Wilders interview with Mr Pothole its as we were from last season plus a few Frees and low fee's. Obviously minus at least 1 from Peck, Hamer, O'Hare, Brooks, Seriki.
So lower your sights Blades fans and you won't be disappointed.
Think Jack Robinson instead of Souttar because there's more chance of that happening.

Think Stoke next season if we are lucky.

Unless you have inside knowledge there is a great deal of guesswork there. The owners may intend to invest more money and there is scope within the rules to do so.
We similarly don’t know the level of commercial support.
Not sure that the £40m figure for last season is correct.

Question, as I genuinely am not sure, the new SCR is 85% of income (on wages and signings) is that separate to what the owners are allowed to put in, or are they allowed to give a % extra?

Owners can invest additional money into their club that does not make up part of the 85%. The allowed amount is a max of £33m over any 3-year period, with a max single season investment of £15m.
