We all know the budget will be massively reduced and it will likely be frees and loans.

This is where Wilder comes into his own in my opinion. Wouldn’t want anyone else in these circumstances.

He didn't say we won't be spending any money he said don't expect many coming in

But 2 or 3 months back he did say we’d be moving on about 10-15 players?

Which I said at the time was probably absolute bollocks but he gets a free pass it seems on spouting nonsense like this
We have got rid of 10 when you include the loan signings

4 Defenders - Mee, Bindon, Hjelde and Hoever
4 Midfielders - Soumare, Davies, Phillips, Riedewald
2 Forwards - Ings, Ogbene

Also within that a squad of 93 international caps and counting (for some) !

I think people were given to believe the it was the shit signings of last summer that were going to be moved on not just the loans, out of contracts and our best CDM

To be fair that is part of the "the 1st cull" still got players like Zatterstrom who have made it clear that he doesn't want to be here. McGuinness might get frozen out too if there are suitable offerings in the loan/cheap market. Matos is likely to be on the list to be moved on too. We do need more utility players that can cover a few positions, it's essential for Championship football especially as we are likely to be in it for the long hall that they aren't one trick ponies. RND probably is on the list of outs if McCallum is fit. We need to get our identity back or at least establish one, last season I don't think we had a squad that was capable for the hard press and we didn't have the depth to cover for that but if that is what is required this season, get a plan A squad together, then have plan B utility players to bloat out the squad a bit, I am not saying we can afford him or to go after him but as an example Sorba Thomas at Stoke, can cover the LW position as his regular position but can also cover LWB and RW or just a wide midfielder, it's those types of players that we need so we can be more flexible in games.

Interesting that the Knill question was not asked. I would imagine Biggs may have been told not too.
Think the narrative the club want to do regards this is likely announce Knill has gone by announcing a new assistant manager/first team coach. It's not so good its' taking a while and you can't help but feel it would be better to announce his departure and put out a statement thanking him first. (Unless of course he's gone and done something wrong, can't see it mind you)

As for next season and recruitment. Not alot was really given out. There will be incomings and outgoings.
Wilder sort of suggesting he wants to keep most of the group and the players that can get back into form. (Presuming that's aimed at the likes of Campbell, Burrows, Tanganga, Arblaster and maybe even Hamer).

Yet I can't see a situation where we don't need to sell a player or two to balance the books a bit and also potentially make some funds to allow us to bring new one's in.
I can see a situation where Hamer stays and either see's out his contract or even signs a new one. But I think it's unlikely. His sale may not be one we have to hinge on.
Peck though probably is.

I suspect Peck and Hamer will depart before this summer window finishes raising £15m or more for Peck and whatever we can get for Hamer with 1 year left. £6m?

Unfortunately I think those two have been performing at the very best of their ability

IF , jones is joining the coaching set up , part of the rationale maybe that we need a fresh set of eyes and voice in the defensive set up .

Players last season were often all over the place defensively .

Watching cape verde yesterday and the analysis thier display wasnt because theyre brilliant defenders , much was due to to how well drilled they were and thier discipline , its what we lacked last season.

Defending is a team effort , and the defence works as a team within a team , we used to have that .

Wilder confirms he was actually born in Hillsborough and don't expect that many signings.
Enjoy the get together of everyone's favourite local journalist and our esteemed leader.

Esteemed leader ( Get Real) !
I've spent an eternity telling people on this forum that he was born in Hillsborough and is therefore NOT a Blade.
At least he will be gone in 12 months (If not before) !

Does the search facility show that to be true?

If he was born in Hillsborough then that doesn't mean he's not a Blade! I don't know Wilder personally but I know from a very close family member of Wilder that he is a Blade. Those that want him out want to consider who would do a better job in the current circumstances of budget limitations and who the board would consider to be the right man given last time they thought Ruben Selles was better!

Unfortunately Chris as now become a ‘yes’ man and tows the line.

It’s not his natural fit as we see in high pressure situations … the mask comes off and we hear the grand statements that we all know won’t happen.

We now see the American owners have no real financial clout so any manager will have to work with what we have.

My concern is that is a hell of a lot of players to get back in form. Some of which I have serious doubts about if they want to play for the club.

Out of form last season :

Cooper - hopefully injury recovery will mean he’s back up to speed.

JT - not sure he wants to be here

MM - lost cause

Burrows - not sure he wants to be here

Arblaster - as per cooper

Peck - Good season but can do more and if still here I think he will.

Chong - nothing is going to improve him another that doesn’t want to be here.

Hamer - quality but can be much better if he decides to put down the kebabs

Cannon - under performed for a season and a half now can’t see it changing.

Campbell - overweight with a shot mindset and work ethic.

That’s 10 and there’s probably more he’s gonna have big problems next season and that’s before we factor in that most can only do 60 mins.
