You have already said this. I pointed out that you were including the Selles games to arrive at this stat. Take Wilder's games alone and we lost the same as Derby.

But don't let that put you off repeatIng the same dodgy stat to support your dodgy agenda

But that doesn’t work does it because if you’re taking 5 games off United, you have to take 5 games off Derby - who lost two of their first 5.

Or you’re comparing 46 games v 41 games.

If you take our first 5 losses away we lost 17, if you take the two Derby lost in that same period away they lost 15. So we lost more than them after changing manager.

The amount of games we lost last season under BOTH managers was unacceptable for a club our size relative to the division we are playing in.

I didn't include any Selles games, we lost over 30, (THIRTY) points from winning positions under Wilder. But don't let the facts put you off from defending your hero.

I wasn't talking about winning positions, as you are fully aware.

You cited our total number of games lost as ammo to slag off Wilder. You included the five losses under Selles to claim that we had the worst record in the league bar the pigs. Without the Selles losses we are bang average on games lost.

Why do you have to come on threads about every topic and use them to further your crazed anti-Wilder agenda. He's going nowhere. Dry your eyes, get over it and get behind the team you claim to support

Most of them I speak too think he's done a good job in his last two spells. I'm with them. By good I don't mean superb or outstanding. Good. If Chris Wilder had zero affiliation to United before his last two spells my opinion wouldn't change one iota.

The most underrated spell I've ever seen a United manager have was the August-January period of the play off final defeat season. Incredible management to get us up there. It's interesting how this period has been totally rewritten by the blinkered revisionists 😉. He also did really well to galvanise the club for the play offs and was very unlucky not to win them. A Brooks sitter away iirc. Everybody but a small clique of United fans had us down as the best team in the play offs but you're not supposed to point that out either 😂

Blaming Wilder for the fitness issues he inherited hugely impacting the back end of games is also hugely disingenuous. Then again it's the 1980s on here so fitness doesn't count. PrESeAsOn.

It’s not been rewritten at all. It’s accepted that he did well to get us top. The criticism - and the reality - is that for whatever reason it fell to pieces in a few short weeks. People put that down to Wilder.

It’s a bit rich to claim history has been rewritten when totally ignoring the shenanigans later, which cost us automatic.

If you discount our first five games, you really ought to do the same for Derby too. In which case, we lost 2 matches more in our last 41 league matches compared to Derby.

That's why I gave the good mark not superb or outstanding (it's included in that). We shouldn't have been competing for automatic promotion as we'd have been cooked by January. Being in the race was an overachievement.

Can we agree that Wilder's last two spells have been good. At least 7/10?

Sure, I have no problem with that. Who knows how a CW team would have performed in the first five games? I think with a full pre-season he'd have done better than Selles.

Last season sadly went from a solid 8.5 to a 6.5 very quickly unfortunately. If he over achieved until January, you have to accept he hugely underachieved thereafter.

Again, sadly, l just cant see him ever approaching the earlier 9.5s which rightly gives him legend status imo.

Not sure how he could have been worse than Selles! We wouldn't have started the season with RND at CB, that's for sure!

2 respected local football reporters saying same that wilder and knill himself being shocked ! .But rob staton saying its a reshuffle from all at the club ,so things clearly not right between owners and rest of club ,there timing is once again is awful like sacking wilder a good month after season over is it cost cutting as well ,especialy if wilder and knill had put plans for pre season and preparation ,who's making the decisions again !!! .

Be difficult to make preseason plans without including any new signings. Maybe that’s what the board, with or without CW, are concentrating on rather than assuaging the feelings of fans up in arms when the transfer season isn’t even open.

Last year WAS dour for a number of reasons.

We are supposed to have moved on from the Warnock days. Great days but they have gone and they arent coming back.

No it wasn’t. We had the 2nd biggest budget in the league. We spent a fortune in January to back the manager and our form fell off a cliff.

Ignoring the first five games we were barely above relegation fight last season and if anything performances got worse as the season went on (again).

The sign of a good manager doing a good job is taking players and getting the best out of them, he hasn’t been able to do that since 2020.

And you’re the one accusing people of re-writing history 😂

Wouldn't disagree with most of that. I'd stop short of 'good' and Id settle on 'average". He's had really good spells like you say, but he's had really poor spells too. Like i mentioned earlier, all a bit meh...

As the best predictor of future behaviour is past behaviour, I'm betting on us starting next season strong and being around the top 3/4 before fading to make the Play Offs.

Question is whether that will appease those vocal minority who have it in for him?

What would be a good season next season? Mid table for me. Our squad needs a hell of a lot of work doing to it before next season. There were some deluded people that expected play offs post Selles last season. Laughable really. I imagine they're expecting a promotion challenge next season 😂😂😂😂😂

We barely had a squad until January and our small squad was run into the ground long before the transfer window opened. Remember the key injuries to Souttar, Arblaster, Moore and Vini?I suppose they were myths too. There wasn't many predicting an automatic challenge on here much as they like to rewrite history. The threads still exist😉.

Our form didn't fall off a cliff all season 😂. We had a dip near the end but falling off a cliff is a ridiculous over exaggeration.

Don't tell me we should be challenging for automatic next season 😂
