Knill gone?

Why's that? The leak could be from anyone. It could be Matt Duke. Ollie Arblaster. Knill himself. A member of his family. Someone at COH. The tea lady. Who knows?
Because if true , only COH , Bettis , Wilder and AK would know. Anyone else would probably have to know via one of them ,

Suspect the tea lady and others are on hol .

I think we all know DH has a direct line to Wilder when it suits certain stories to be leaked. It's a pipeline that's been used often since 2016 and shows no sign of stopping yet. A tale as old as time sadly. I'm not sure there's any point disguising it much anymore 🙃

Its a shame to see him go, for the good times we have had, but doesn't feel like a surprise with even people on here saying we probably need to refresh our coaching team.

As much as that article tries to pin it on the board, I can't see anything like this happening without some form of discussion and agreement with Wilder.

You don't just sack someone without their line manager at least being on board with it after discussions.

I can only assume they had a discussion and the end result was all parties agreeing to the outcome and I would assume the people coming in as well.

We will never know, maybe they had told Wilder he has to play more attacking football, maybe they told him they want to import players from Thailand and need a Thai coach to support.

As it stands, I am happy going into next season with Wilder as manager and carry on the current journey. As long as next season we aren't fighting relegation, (I think I am right that Wilders contract is up next summer?) this gives us a season for the club to decide who takes it forward at that point.

UTB

What is it about the relegated, sacked, Alexander Blessin, that makes you want him?

🙄
1. To replace a man who got us promoted to the PL years ago but then whose decisions and spending were largely responsible for two PL relegations and an unfit squad for the last two seasons
2. St Pauli played some lovely football, you know, like Wilder was once capable of but that we have put to one side either because we want to play it safe, aren't fit enough or, frankly, we bottle the opportunities to get after teams properly
3. He could bring Jackson Irvine, the captain, with him. A proper leader, talented and effective midfielder. Also an Australian international
4. Blessin and St Pauli have/ had an incredible 'connection' to their supporters and they provide a fantastic atmosphere, unlike the soul less ground that BDTBL has turned into.
Real 'connection' and not just tired rhetoric.
5. We might start to see that other footballing philosophies exist other than 'I get it' and we can only be successful with those who also 'get it'

One day, we'll mature as a club and look outside local character politics. This might be a start.
There are others.
Other clubs find them and improve.

Why not us? Is a question I'd pose back to you.

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Course not, cause I support Sheffield United, not Christopher Wilder.
You've a strange way of showing it. You've stopped attending and the majority of your posts are a drip, drip of negativity around the club. Your dislike of Wilder is outweighing your support of the club. Personally I could see Selles was a disaster early doors but I didn't down tools and turn my back on the team because for me it's about supporting the team above the manager. If the cost of attending is your gripe then fair do's otherwise your stance comes across as bit childish. FWIW I thought the Devil wears Prada was crap but it didn't stop me going to the cinema.

You're speculating entirely.

As I said, contracts in football, certainly in UK and Europe run 1st July to end of June. Financials also run this way, although the financial year ends can vary.

I'd guess that any personnel coming in will start on 1st July. So if we're shaking things up then i'd assume that we're also giving notice to personnel leaving with the view to them ending their contracts end of June.

The personnel leaving may have been informed previously, but the information is only leaking to the media and speculators now.

I've no idea how long this has been planned.
We are all speculating,

“for me it's about supporting the team above the manager”

Which is why some believe it may be time for a change. That doesn’t equate to hatred. Dislike, for some, yes.

1. You can put blame on the relegation in 20/21 but you can't for 23/24 really. We went into that PL season so undercooked under Hecky. Not that Hecky could massively help it either.
2. I couldn't say if St Pauli played lovely football. But they did just finish bottom of the pile in the Bundesliga and have sacked Blessin.
3. Is Jackson Irvine suited to the championship? I couldn't say.
4. I think you'll find it's more likely just that the german football fans do create better atmosphere's than in England. St Pauli have been known to be very vociferous for decades. So it's less to do with Blessin.
5. But do you "get it"? I'm all for good football philosophies but I also think that a philosophy doesn't come over winning.

Wilder won't be here forever. Perhaps within the next or in 12 months time. All depends on if he stays and makes any success of it this season I reckon.

As a club we need to change the infrastructure in the scouting and setup which includes coaching. Perhaps this move with Knill and Ramos is a start of it?
I can't say I know though.

I’ve stopped going because the football we play is absolutely dour.

We just need Morgan Gibbs- White and Illiman back.

Anyone got a £ 100 million to 'lend' to COH?

Think investment and entertainment for the fans.

Personally, it's a cost to actual value thing for me, I just think there's better things to do on a Saturday/Tuesday night than spend it watching something that infuriates me. I don't begrudge those that do mind, each to their own, but I'm not gonna pay money to watch something I find boring. I'm not expecting PSG levels of football, just something with a bit of attacking intent.

The majority of my posts are negative, because the clubs done absolutely nothing positive recently, I'm not going to give credit when it's not due, we've been laughably amateur in almost every aspect, it's not something to be applauded. If something's shit, I'll call it, if something's positive, I'll call it. Is it positive to be targeting the same players we've tried to sign for years? Is it positive to hear nothing in regards to the club?

The "dislike of Wilder" part isn't correct, it's not that I dislike him, said multiple times I appreciate what he's done during his first spell here, I'm just tired of the rinse and repeat interviews, tactics and general stuff that comes with him.

You say "support the team" which I get, though.. They've not really done much to garner my support through dismal performances.

IF that is the case, let’s see how Danny and Ralph spin that.
No idea on the credibility of those saying it this am and maybe they've seen or heard it from the same place even though they're not connected AFAIK.

Just find it a bit odd with all AK's local connections and the fact he's effectively lived in this area for many years, with his wife from here too, that there's such a variety of reasons or rumours out there.

Then again I should know better than to assume some of our local media are fully on the ball.

It's okay because he is "gets what it means to be a blade" and likely still lives in a Sheffield postcode! We don't experience or progressive ideas - as long as they "get it"!

I "get what it means to be a Blade", I've been supporting them for 50 years, boy and man....but there can't be any less progressive club than SUFC, we always seem to take 1 step forward and 2 back. We must shed the Bladey-Blade culture at BDTBL otherwise we will never progress. Stop being fucking dinosaurs.

I genuinely don't understand why they hate him.
not many people hate him, lots of people think he’s on his downswing and can’t recapture his mojo from a decade ago. Some people are bored of the football and/or bored of the bladey blade clique that follows him around.

Because of his ego and the widdlers constantly blowing smoke up his arse, despite how mediocre his management has been for the last 6 years, he seems to think he and he alone has a divine right to decide what happens at United.

He’ll go down in blades history for the 4 seasons between 2016 / 2020 but we’re now approaching the point where he will have had more poor seasons than good - what will that do to his legacy? This team and its performances are every bit as bad as the 15/16 team or the pre-Warnock team, but some are too blind to see it for some reason.

Knill MK1 was excellent. You could see his input, (Fleck's free kick v the Pigs being a great example) but since then he's looked like a Pensioner that's lost his buss pass and wandered into the dugout by mistake. If Wilder is Manager then so be it but by God we need some fresh ideas and impetus from the coaching staff. Wee had a golden opportunity in Keith Andrews and dare I say Jason Tindall but let those ones slip by as well.

The football from the last 2 years has been largely awful. OK in the 96 point season we made the play off final but you could count on one hand how many times during Wilders 80 plus games of that period where we actually played well and entertained. I know it is a results business but it has been very hard watching..

The 90 point season was about scoring early and clinging on for dear life. Can’t remember if it was here or on X but someone posted our record against the ‘better’ teams that season and it was horrendous. People leaving on 70 mins because we couldn’t affect games in the last 20 mins.

The playoff games were a microcosm of the season, when the pressure was off we dominated and look strong, as soon as any pressure was applied we retreated and crumbled.

Fair enough regards cost against entertainment, I get that. Your last point baffles me. I get it's a two way thing but based on that theory no one would ever go to watch a team unless they were in the top 10 or so of any division. Arguably any team needs their support more when things aren't going great on the pitch.

I've not mentioned hate in any of my posts. Negativity abounds however.

Fair comments, I think supporters need something to give them that spark to support the team, and when you see side to side, back to side passes, nobody really willing to put their bodies on the line for the team they're playing with, it's difficult to then give that support. I dunno, as I've said, I've not been going so can't comment on the support at the lane, though looking at some comments on here, along with my stepdads comments (he goes to most home games) the atmosphere seems to be flatter than a pancake.
