Can you elaborate on "Prince A"That was down to Prince A having no money ….. the skint Prince. He’s done very well out of us - I doubt he’s made a lot more from the sale than he ever put in.

Think with the Prince is that though his wealth had its limits, his decision making was pretty sound. That was down to Prince A having no money ….. the skint Prince. He’s done very well out of us - I doubt he’s made a lot more from the sale than he ever put in.
I feckin hate Burnley but if they are potentially in £ trouble ,Good luck to them. They rode their luck in last seasons play offs v Cov C & then us and were fortunately able to spend big & their gamble paid off. I’m actually glad they stayed up as it finally pushed a couple of poor Premier League teams through the trap door with Wolves & West Ham.
However I hope Burnley don’t go straight back up….. they have rode their luck big time & will be in serious financial trouble if they miss out & lose parachute money.
We're still piss poor at controlling thoseWe need to focus on things we can control, not those that we can't. There's absolutely nothing we can do about VAR. There is when it comes to team selection, subs, our approach, making stupid mistakes in injury time.
Yep, supposed to be the replacement for Billy DeardenDon't forget how our record signing 'improved' the team.
Chris Bloody Guthrie!
Unreal.Yep, supposed to be the replacement for Billy Dearden![]()
We should have considered this before selling Billy OsulaUnreal.
He was the antithesis of Dearden.
Couldn't finish his dinner.
Not researched it but is "Billy" the name most synonomous with prolific goalscorers at the Lane I wonder
Gillespie,Dearden n Sharp being 3 that immediately spring to mind.
I think they may struggle this season. Three to one looks quite tempting.Sunderland’s approach to the transfer market has completely reversed in 12 months.
Promoted via the play-offs in May 2025, they went on a major recruitment drive last summer and spent well over £150 million (reports put the figure between £155m and £167m, or around €180m+) bringing in the likes of Habib Diarra, Granit Xhaka, Simon Adingra and others to build a Premier League squad.
This summer they have spent nothing on transfer fees. The only arrival so far is Thomas Meunier on a free.
That swing — from one of the heaviest spenders among newly promoted sides to a complete freeze — has happened while they sit in the Europa League after finishing 7th last season, their first European football since 1973.
There are a few drain circlers who could come a cropper if one of the promoted sides puts a decent run of results together.I think they may struggle this season. Three to one looks quite tempting.
Meks our transfer biz look like West Ham'sSunderland’s approach to the transfer market has completely reversed in 12 months.

Burnley’s situation is different, it was a leveraged buyout like the Glazers at Man Utd so the club effectively took on the debt of buying itself for the new owners.I feckin hate Burnley but if they are potentially in £ trouble ,
Just think where we are![]()
I'm like you waiting for Brentford to plunge, don't see any of your picks going down. There are a few drain circlers who could come a cropper if one of the promoted sides puts a decent run of results together.
Fulham could struggle, likewise Palace, Forest, Leeds, Newcastle.
I keep waiting for Brentford's bubble to burst but it still hasn't happened!
I think Sunderland are the likeliest of the non promoted clubs to drop, given they have the "reward " of playing in Europe, which means at least 8 extra midweek games. There are a few drain circlers who could come a cropper if one of the promoted sides puts a decent run of results together.

A mate of mine is a ST holder at Sun’lun he’s said exactly the same , you effectively need 2 sides & they’ve recruited next to nothingI think Sunderland are the likeliest of the non promoted clubs to drop, given they have the "reward " of playing in Europe, which means at least 8 extra midweek games.
