It will (it will anyway tbh), but it will bring a measure of sanity to the game. You'd imagine there'd be a period of adjustment baked in.to account for existing overheads.

I won't be gobsmacked, if they vote now. Everyone wants the big riches of the PL promised land, and will gamble to get there.

I’d be surprised if it gets voted through. There’s a lot of owners currently comfortable with funding losses.

The rules should be applied, it’s mad that clubs are allowed to outspend their revenue. In any other business they’d have been stopped years ago.

If it gets thru the accountants will be looking for ways around it. I’d expect to see assets split into different packages - grounds separated from staff costs so that rents for use of facilities are charged to the Clubs rather than the Clubs paying the full running costs.

Although not usually a guardian reader a decent article about the full ins and out, the idea is for Championship to align with the Premier League spending rules whilst League 1 is looking to align with League 2. If its the case that it goes through Player sales do count as income

I can`t imagine that splitting out the costs for the ground necessarily will help.

SCR means you can`t spend more than a specific percentage of out income on your squad. Splitting outs costs doesn't help.

Your spot on the accountants will be all over it - I suspect a number of clubs will start finding "creative" ways to (on paper) increase their income.

Apperantly the premier league are starting it from next season I can’t see us in favour of this neither are the other other big clubs

It's mostly because we're the only club in the division losing parachute payments this year. It'll hit us instantly much harder than anyone else.

I otherwise think it's a good idea, but it'll most likely relegate us next season such is the amount we'd need to cut
