2015/2016 season has the exact same feeling as this season does. Absolute waste of time, energy and emotional attachment towards the blades. First time in years this season I have opted not to watch and to spend time doing other things, where as previously (even in our pathetic PL relegation seasons) I'd be watching religiously....well maybe turning off on 75/80 minutes.

Difference between the PL relegations and this season is that we were expected to lose against better players. This year it's been pathetic.

The lack of ability for 90 minutes by the players is criminal. Along with the disastrous summer, it's absolutely destroyed our season that we have to make changes because players aren't fit. People play amateur football who can last 90 minutes - why can't these professionals.

I have 0 connection with any of these players and in 10 years time (excluding the academy lads) I'll struggle to name our starting XI.

We are weak as piss, defensively shocking. Tactical naive and it's a real shock to our system we have a team with 0 mentality.

Christ knows how Wilder is going to change it as it requires money. We aren't getting close to 10M for the piss poor players we need to ship out (around 8-9 I would say) and to buy players with quality, availability and a good mentality will cost a fortune.

I believe wilder can turn this around but there are so many parallels from that season to this one it's unbelievable.

Getting good players in as you say shouldn't cost a fortune (in transfer fees).

Luckily this day and age a lot of players run their contracts down, so you can get some decent players on a free. As mentioned in the ither thread (out of contract one), theres some decent players that would improve us that are coming to end of their contracts (of theres no option from clubs to trigger extensions etc).

Only decent money we will get in transfer fee would be from peck which would be north of £10m & thats why id be willing to sell him to try and fund some sort of transfer kitty.

No way he can turn it around. If he can’t do it with the mix of experiance, youth and facilities he’ll never do it.

Yes, he got us out of the mess the owners created with the Sélles debacle but then as usual he ran out of steam and ergo did the players and fans. Now he runs out of steam and ideas every game, 29 lost points from winning positions is about the same as Wednesday

You don’t need to go to the cost to get rid of 8/9 players (agree a few) to change things. The right team of coaches and manager can turn the shortcomings in mentality, physical fitness and skills round to have a top 6 club next season.

We the fans have created a false god that will prove to be an anchor until he’s given a golden season ticket and replaced with the right man and his team.

Thats the challenge, not selling our youth and asset players for Wilder to squander on journeymen and projects. Wilder and his team can’t get good players fit and playing well anymore. Wilder has fast become a smash and grab manager over player fitness, mentality and pashun to win games rather than the man he was first time round.

Just look at our record since beating the 🐷, LWDLDLDL. Wilder will dine out on the double double for some fans while the deckchairs are rearranged and the band keeps playing.

Although an emotive OP which might get pelters from the
"man-up , it's what being a Blade is all about" crew ,
I'm sure there are many who love dem Blades feeling exactly the same.
The club has been the author of its own slide and it's heartbreaking.
I've had a ST for decades.
I'll renew again coz it's part of who I am.
But I don't live in Sheffield so I have to travel for every home game.
I didn't attend on Friday and I'm not giving them another full day of my time this season.
Like you , my "connection" to the clueless owners & directors , the virtually clueless Wilder and the feckless players is virtually eroded.
I need a break till August.
And see if there's any sign of a wave of intelligence breaking at the Lane.

That cant be right.

Wilder is THE ONLY MANAGER that could have saved us.
In support of Wilder he came back to a team literally on its arse with real shortcomings.Clememt came in to a team with most of the parts inplace that had a poor start to the season .
He did well but it took him sometime to get it going consistently. They will probably just miss out on the play offs.

You are awful , but I like you

It has been one of the worse seasons in the Championship for many a year, Normally Football can be a good distraction from what is the normal daily grind. this year it feels like such a drag and like others, feeling very much detached from it all.

Hopefully in the summer Wilder will do what he does on a limited budget and next season will be a lot better, and we can all hopefully see the identity and feeling back into our wonderful club.

It's a huge rebuild that's needed. Reset your expectations, be realistic, don't get sentimental about the players we could lose (none of them are worth any sadness) and strap yourself in for a long journey with a lot of mediocrity on the way. A lot of the angst is due to expectation management. It's on you to recalibrate your own expectations.

I genuinely don't think it's a dramatic hugely different to normal summer rebuild. Let's be honest we've had enough of those every season nearly anyway. 4 stronger starters and this is a play off quality side imo.

Lovely to hear this bonkers statement over and over. I’m a Wilder fan and I certainly don’t believe this. It is a clickbait statement from a few at one end of the argument to the few at the other as the likes indicate. Is it really adding anything but division?

Wilder talks a good game but he won’t follow through on his word… I can guarantee it… most of the squad will still be here next year .. and as others have said he needs to be calling out the fitness team who must be the wirst at their jobs in the league
